Prince Harry is said to have been in talks with ITV news anchor Tom Bradby for a TV interview to promote his upcoming memoir, Spare.

Executives at Random House, publishers of the book due out in January, have spoken to ITV to arrange a lengthy on-camera chat with King Charles’ younger son.

A source told The Mirror: ‘The publishers want Harry to promote Spare in the UK.

‘Tom Bradby has been close to Harry for a long time.

‘He is someone Harry can trust.’

The ITV news anchor told GMA that he ‘had a couple of private heart to hearts’ with Harry, 2019

Mr Bradby most recently worked with the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan, 41, during their tour of Africa in 2019.

At the time, Tom Bradby said he ‘found a couple that seemed a bit bruised and vulnerable.’

He added: ‘We had a pretty long chat, and I speak to Harry relatively often and have done over the years.

‘I knew things weren’t entirely brilliant behind the scenes, [but] it built as the tour went on. I was just observing.

‘As time wore on, I began to really get a sense of where he was at.’

Prince William was also interviewed by the former ITV political editor in 2010.

Prince Harry’s memoir Spare will be released on 10 January 2023, with proceeds going to British charities.

Prince Harry will narrate the audiobook version himself.

Historically, ‘the spare’ has referred to younger children of the monarch, beneath ‘the heir’ in the line of succession.

Monarchs often had ‘spare’ issue in case anything happened to the original heir.

Prince Harry was videoed yesterday in a special Christmas message for a charity for bereaved military children, dressed as Spider Man.

The Duke of Sussex recorded the clip for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, played at the charity’s annual Christmas party.

He said: ‘Christmas is a time when we miss our loved ones really really badly. And that’s okay.

‘But at the same time it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents. But I am here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, okay?

‘So don’t feel guilty. You’re allowed to have the best time ever, especially with this Scotty’s Little Soldiers community.’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also recently released the trailer for their upcoming Netflix documentary, which has proven controversial.
