A string of women have rushed forward to deny taking Prince Harry’s virginity after he set tongues wagging with a lurid account of a rendezvous in a field in his bombshell memoir.
Former model Suzannah Harvey, 44, and interior designer Catherine Ommanney, 51, have joined Liz Hurley in ruling themselves out as the Duke of Sussex’s first lover.
In his book Spare, Harry revealed he lost his virginity to an older horse-loving woman behind a busy pub – thought to be the Rattlebone Inn in Wiltshire – at the age of 17 in 2001.
Describing the moment in the English edition, he said he felt like a ‘young stallion’, adding: ‘Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me off to graze.’

Miss Harvey has sought to distance herself from the brief encounter after previously admitting to ‘passionately kissing’ the prince in a muddy field when she was 23 after a Christmas ball in that same year.
Posting a picture of herself with a packet of Ginger Nuts on Instagram, Miss Harvey who is six years his senior, wrote: ‘The only ones I’ve ever touched … believe zero of what you read.’
Miss Ommanney, who dated Harry when she was 34 and he was 21, also denied being the woman in question, adding that he was ‘clearly’ an experienced lover by the time they got together in 2006.
His former lover said that she hated horses and she was ‘definitely not that girl in the field’.
As the search for the mystery woman goes on, rumours are now swirling around Emma Wood née Tomlinson – an equine vet and polo coach ten years his senior.
The now married 48-year-old has known Harry for decades because her family were neighbours and good friends with his father Charles at his Highgrove estate.
The Tomlinsons ran the nearby Beaufort Polo Club where her late mother Claire, one of the world’s best female players, coached Harry and his brother William.

Harry, who spent some of his gap year on the family’s ranch in Argentina, was also close with her brothers Luke and Mark Tomlinson who were invited to his wedding.
Mrs Wood and her brothers were part of the princes’ tightknit group of friends known as Club H – not H after Harry but because of their gatherings at Highgrove House.
One source on the Beaufort Polo Club scene, who knew Mrs Wood well, said: ‘She was very thick with the royals and the princes in particular. They were always out as part of a social group having some serious fun all the time.’
The source added: ‘She has an attractive personality – flirtatious, lively. She is a country girl and doesn’t get too hung up about these things.’
Referring to Prince Harry’s detailed account in his book of his first time, the insider added: ‘It was a fairly mild escapade by the standards of some of the flings which have gone on at the Beaufort down the years. I don’t know why everyone is so surprised and so obsessed by it.’
Both William and Harry were regulars on the polo club’s lively social scene which had a reputation among locals as being ‘an upper class meat market’.
The wild parties would see the youngsters spill out into the local pubs in the 1990s and early 2000s including the Rattlebone.
Mrs Wood, who was in her late 20s at the time, and the teenaged Harry were said to have been seen drinking together at the 17th century pub frequently around that time.
A source who was familiar with the group said: ‘Emma would spend every summer with Harry and William. The parties they would have at the Beaufort Polo club were insane.
‘I’ve seen with my own eyes the relationship she and Harry had and it was really very friendly and close. She’s a lovely girl, very funny. She was definitely the more dominant one of the two of them.’
When approached for a comment by the Mail last night Mrs Wood refused to be drawn. Franck Ortet, a former manager at the Rattlebone, has said he believed the mystery woman was a popular member of the polo set.
Declining to give names, he said the woman enjoyed rowdy nights at the pub with both Harry and William when she was in her mid-20s.
Mr Ortet added that he believed a field behind the Rattlebone, which is surrounded by a stone wall, would have been the ‘perfect spot’ for Harry’s brief liaison.
Leaked copies of Spare in Spain raised eyebrows last week with Harry’s apparently distasteful language describing the encounter.
In the Spanish edition, he revealed that he lost his virginity when discussing how a royal aide had paid him a visit to discuss a potential scandal.
The translated version read: ‘I suspected he was referring to my recent loss of virginity, a humiliating episode with an older woman who liked macho horses and who treated me like a young stallion.
‘I mounted her quickly, after which she spanked my ass and sent me away.’ In fact the aide had been sent over a drug-taking claim that was dismissed as ‘lies’. But an English version of the book makes it clear that Harry was using a light-hearted horsey metaphor referring to a ‘quick ride’ and his ‘rump’.
