Retiring ministers to step down from cabinet immediately
Four senior Andrews government ministers, including the deputy premier and health minister, will immediately step down from cabinet, in a major blow for the premier and the state just months out from the election.
James Merlino, Martin Foley, Martin Pakula and Lisa Neville are expected to announce on Friday morning that they will each retire from politics in November.

A senior Labor source not authorised to speak publicly said the ministers would remain as MPs until the election, but step down from the ministry so the government could ensure a smooth transition by November.
