Serbian MP made to resign after watching porn during debate

Unhappy ending for Serbian MP who is forced to quit after being filmed watching hardcore porn film featuring X-rated massage during parliamentary debate

  • The Kosovo Committee chair was caught watching porn in a debate on Kosovo
  • Foreign Minister said he would ‘always be a porno MP’ and asked him to resign

A Serbian MP has resigned after he was filmed watching pornography during a parliamentary debate.

Zvonimir Stević, 65, a veteran politician long involved in Serbian-Kosovan diplomacy, was caught flicking between hardcore pornography and an X-rated massage video on his phone during a discussion on Serbia’s ties with Kosovo.

Lawmakers were meeting to talk through links between nations that would affect Kosovo’s application to join the EU.

Stević, himself a law graduate and the chair of the Committee for Kosovo, appeared more interested in watching a pornographic massage clip on his lap.

Ivica Dačić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, asked the MP to resign and said: ‘Wherever you appear, whatever you say, you will always be a porno MP.’

The MP was seen scrolling through a website and watching two X-rated videos.

A recording was leaked onto social media, which was picked up by national media and led to Stević’ resignation.

Ivica Dačić said: ‘This is a scandal and a disaster.

‘Zvonko, it is realistic for you to resign. You can no longer remain a deputy, because you cannot deal with this.’

Zvonimir complied, saying: ‘I am a party soldier, I will do what you ask.’

Western nations are pressuring Serbia and Kosovo to normalise relations after the latter declared independence in 2008.

The issue is said to be the largest obstacle preventing Serbia’s accession to the EU.

In December, Serbia moved troops to the Kosovan border amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Stević became the vice-president of the Priština municipal assembly in 1991.

He has been a senior figure in managing relations with Kosovo, rising to deputy minister and president of the coordination centre at the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija in 2008.

He came under fire in 2008 for spending more than two and a half million dinars (about £18,704) on travel expenses from the parliamentary treasury.

He said the first time was accidental after ‘looking at tractors’ and the second was ‘a moment of madness’.
