Goodbye to the ‘godmother of punk’: Stars from world of fashion and showbiz wear Vivienne Westwood designs as they attend memorial service for pioneering designer after her death aged 81

Guests have begun arriving at a memorial service for Dame Vivienne Westwood to celebrate the life of the pioneering fashion designer who died on December 29.

Many have styled themselves in classic Westwood fashion, with tartan designs and colourful bold tailoring on display.

The service at Southwark Cathedral will be attended by family, friends and other figures from the world of fashion.

Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Lily Cole, Lady Amelia Windsor and actresses Catherine Jenkins and Elle Fanning were among the biggest names seen arriving to the service. 

Rapper Stormzy and comedian Jonathan Ross were also among the congregation.

Elle Fanning arrived at the memorial service wearing an all-black ensemble, pairing her long black coat-dress with a matching pillar-box hat.

The US star collaborated with the fashion designer on many occasions, with Dame Vivienne styling the 24-year-old in a custom pink corset-style dress for the Independent Spirit Awards in 2021.

Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie was also spotted heading into the service in a black suit.

US singer-songwriter Beth Ditto arrived for fashion designer Vivienne Westwood’s memorial service in a demure black trench coat.

Fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu wore a three-piece black suit and Babs actress Jaime Winstone donned a black fitted dress paired with black lace-up platforms.

Fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes opted for a classic bold look with a red jumpsuit and leather jacket alongside her signature bright pink hairstyle.

Singer Paloma Faith and actress Christian Hendricks were also spotted among the guests.

Designer Victoria Beckham and supermodel Kate Moss with her daughter Lila have joined guests at Southwark Cathedral for the Dame Vivienne Westwood memorial.

The former Spice Girl wore a skin-tight black dress with a high neck, long sleeves and a leg slit.

Moss donned a caftan-style dress with a blazer and her daughter Lila carried a red Westwood bag.

British Vogue editor Edward Enninful was also in attendance in a black blazer and trousers.

Stormzy made a surprise appearance at the memorial for the late Dame Vivienne Westwood in an all-black suit and shirt combo.

Artist Tracey Emin, a long-standing friend of Dame Vivienne after meeting at a Vogue shoot in the summer of 1999, was also in attendance for the service in London.

Also spotted arriving were singer Bob Geldof, and Australian singer Nick Cave alongside his fashion designer wife Susie Cave, who wore a silver brocade coat.

Rapper Big Mike, designer Matty Bovan and model Lorraine Pascale, wearing a black suit with a pearl necklace, were also among the guests.
