Taco Bell is testing a menu item featuring a giant Cheez-It
Next on the Taco Bell menu: a giant Cheez-It.
The fast food chain said it’s testing two new menu items, both of which feature an oversized Cheez-It cracker.
Consumers in Southern California can try either the Big Cheez-It Tostada or the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme for two weeks or while supplies last, the restaurant said in a statement.
The Big Cheez-It Tostada for $2.49 takes an oversized Cheez-It and tops it with seasoned beef, sour cream, diced tomatoes, lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese.
The Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme for $4.29 is essentially the tostada but wrapped in a giant tortilla then grilled.

“We’re thrilled about this new concept with Cheez-It, which gives our fans the chance to experience the real cheese and crunch they love from both of our brands in a whole new way,” Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s chief food innovation officer, said in a statement.
This is not the first time Taco Bell has partnered with other food brands on fresh menu items. In 2012, Taco Bell launched the Nacho-Cheese Doritos Locos Taco. A year later, the fast food chain launched a version of the Doritos Locos Tacos with a Cool Ranch flavored shell.
What about Mexican Pizza?
Last month, Taco Bell had to remove the popular Mexican Pizza from its menu weeks after bringing it back because of high demand.
The restaurant cited one restaurant in California that sold more than 1,000 Mexican Pizzas in one day and an order from a customer that included 180 Mexican Pizzas.
“While we’re currently selling out, for now, we’re working diligently with our restaurants and suppliers to get more back in the hands and stomachs of our biggest fans by this fall,” the chain said in a letter to fans in May.
