THREE teachers have been rushed to hospital after a former pupil allegedly attacked staff at a high school in Renfrewshire.

Cops attended the scene at Johnstone High, Renfrewshire, following reports a disturbance on Friday morning.

It is alleged a former pupil entered the school before three teachers, aged 59, 48, 34 were rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in nearby Paisley.

A 14-year-old pupil also suffered minor injuries following the alleged incident.

Worried parents said the teachers had been injured trying to break up a fight in the dining hall. One dad said: “It’s pretty crazy.”

Police and the school insisted the incident was not a stabbing and that no weapons had been used.

In a statement, Police Scotland said a 16-year-old girl had been traced in connection with the incident.

In a letter to parents, Steven Quinn, the director of children’s services assured parents that “all pupils are safe and well”.

He said: “The incident occurred this morning when a former pupil entered the school.

“Three teachers and one pupil were injured and have received appropriate medical treatment.
