Two boys aged 15 & 16 appear in court charged with murder of Khayri McLean, 15, knifed to death outside school | The Sun

TWO teen boys have today appeared in court charged with stabbing a 15-year-old boy to death at the school gates.

Khayri McLean was rushed to hospital after the horror outside North Huddersfield Trust School (NHTS) on Wednesday.

Sadly he couldn't be saved and was declared dead shortly after.

Two boys aged 15 and 16 today appeared at Leeds Youth Court on Monday jointly charged with murder and possession of a knife.

The teens, who can't legally be named, spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses.

They were remanded into youth detention accommodation until their next appearance at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday.

Khayri was allegedly pinned down and knifed near the gates of the school in Huddersfield.

A teacher frantically performed CPR but tragically the teenager died after being taken to hospital.

Tributes have flooded in for Khayri – including from his mother who left flowers at the scene.

The schoolboy's girlfriend Shyana James, 16, told how her "heart shattered" when she heard he died and called him a "really nice boy".

She revealed the pair's final call just a minute before his death saying Khayri had been on his way home to change clothes and then meet her when he was attacked.

Her mum Sherrin, 35, said the pair were "literally inseparable", adding: "He was her first proper boyfriend. She absolutely adored him and he absolutely adored her."
