Up your pantry game with Ina Garten's genius storage hacks — from $11

When Ina Garten gives her tips on kitchen and pantry organizing on her delightful Instagram feed, we zoom in. As always, the Barefoot Contessa star has plenty of great ideas, and this fall is no different. Her 13th cookbook, titled Go-To Dinners: A Barefoot Contessa Cookbook, comes out on October 25th and features easy dinner recipes inspired by all the cooking we did over the pandemic.

In order for Garten to get all her bestselling cookbook recipes done right, she makes sure her busy pantry is in tip-top shape. Each year, she clears out any dry goods that are past their prime and organizes the rest. To do this, she relies on a few basic tools: open shelves, clear bins, shallow bowls and deep crocks.

You may already have some of these items on hand at home. But in case you don’t, we’ve scoped out some affordable lookalikes on Amazon to help you follow her lead.

Set up shop

First things first: Take everything out and clean the surfaces and floors. After cleaning, take stock of what you’ve got and arrange items for accessibility. Garten’s pantry looks like a little grocery store with everything at the ready on wire shelving.

Amazon Basics 4-Shelf Adjustable Shelving Unit

For an inexpensive way to channel Ina, consider Amazon’s No. 1 bestselling shelving. Made of sturdy stainless steel, it has a legion of five-star fans (over 81,000 and counting!) because it is simple, durable and has a clean look.

A clear way to get organized

Garten keeps things from tumbling around with some perfect little bins. “This year, I got clear plastic containers for all those messy chocolate chip and dried bean packages,” Gartner wrote on her Instagram. “It’s easier to see what I already have when I’m making a grocery list!”

To neaten up your foodstuff and easily see what’s at hand, nab a pair of these clear pantry organizer bins with handles.

The secret of citrus bowls

Not only do lemons and limes look gorgeous on display (a trick used for ages by stylists) but Garten shared another incredible reason to show them off: “You get more juice from room temperature citrus,” she explained on Instagram. Noted!

These 10-inch Dowan porcelain serving bowls look lovely holding colorful produce, and they make great pasta or salad bowls, too. Right now, the pair is just $27 (was $34).

These bowls are perfect for bunches of citrus or green apples.

A useful home for utensils

Garten prefers to keep her wood and metal tools separate. “I like big white crocks with utensils on the counter so they’re easy to reach,” she wrote. Sweet and simple.

A similar find with a twist: This minimalist 7.2-inch utensil holder has a recycled cork bottom that promises to never scratch your countertop. And it’s unlikely to topple, thanks to its weight distribution.

These crocks are sleek, hold lots of utensils and won’t scratch your countertops. Don’t forget to click on the coupon to get the best deal.
