Warning to stay inside on Bonfire Night as millions of Brits set to enjoy fireworks | The Sun
A WARNING has been issued to some Brits near firework displays with some being sent a letter telling them to "stay inside" on bonfire night due to the risk of "debris".
Locals of Edgbaston, Birmingham received the letter from Warwickshire County Cricket Club warning them that fireworks displays at the club's stadium may cause "non-hazardous debris" to fall onto their property.
The bizarrely worded note left some neighbours baffled, as it seemed to advise them not to leave their homes at all on the night.
The unusual letter read: "Edgbaston is hosting its fireworks spectacular on Saturday 5th November.
"As a near neighbour, whose home is in close proximity to the stadium, there is the potential for some of the non-hazardous debris from the fireworks to fall into the exterior area of your property during this time period.
"With this in mind, we would advise you to stay inside your property during the course of the display.

"We would like to apologise for any debris that might fall into your property."
It also thanked locals for their "understanding and cooperation."
One resident posted a snap of the note to a local Facebook group and asked for the local community's opinion.
Captioning the post, they asked: "What are people's thoughts?

The resident went on to say: "Not sure about being advised to stay indoors and being told debris may fall on our property and surrounding area."
Reacting to the letter, one commenter wrote: "People should do what they choose to on the night and not be steered by commercial operations spending huge amounts on a ticketed events making huge profits."
