Ticketholders at Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical at London’s Peacock Theatre were stunned to see the lights turn on midway through the performance as security rounded on the abusive man.

He was heard to shout ‘f***ing c***s” at the assembly before he was shown the door.

Audience member Emma Gritt filmed the bizarre interlude as angry theatregoers demanded the troublemaker’s removal.

She said: ‘People were absolutely furious and one man screamed across the theatre. It was quite dramatic and very uncomfortable

‘At first we could hear some raised voices during the show and it sounded like a man and a woman were having an argument.

Theatregoers watching Bat out of Hell: The Musical got more drama than they expected after a rowdy audience member brought the performance to a halt

‘It was getting rowdy, and we could hear the man shouting at others in the audience that they were “f****** c****”, telling them to “f*** off”, said “this place is full of f****** Nazis”.

‘He bellowed “I’m having fun let me enjoy myself” as other audience members were telling him to shut up.’

As the disturbance got louder, lead actor Rob Fowler who plays the role of Falco continued to perform unfazed until a producer halted the show.

Ms Gritt said: ‘There was a producer in the audience who just raised his hand and said, ‘Rob, stop.’  And then he stopped singing and said, “really?” as the lights turned on.

The stage show was commissioned in 2016 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Meatloaf’s album of the same name and commemorates the music of songwriter Jim Steinman

‘The man in the audience was still shouting, he wouldn’t leave. He kept shouting “this is my f***ing seat” and he was surrounded by theatre patrons. There were people shouting “shameful!”‘

Ms Gritt went on: ‘Another man stood up in another bank of seats and threatened to “f*** batter” him.

Eventually, members of the audience began chanting ‘out, out, out’ and gave out a loud cheer as the man and his partner were removed from the stalls.

‘When the man and his female partner were finally removed by security, after a standoff in the stalls, he turned and shouted at everyone to “f***off”. We then heard them screaming at each other in the lobby area outside.

‘The show resumed and at the curtain call, everyone gave an especially loud cheer – perhaps more than usual – because they’d carried on performing in spite of what had happened.’
