He ascends the throne after his mother's longest reign in British history, his sons being first and fifth in line after him.
Who are King Charles' Children?
King Charles has two sons.
He shares his sons with his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, who tragically died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
His eldest is Prince William, who is now first in line to ascend the throne.
His second son is Prince Harry, who is fifth in line for the throne, behind his brothers' children.

Prince Harry
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, was born September 15, 1984, at St Mary's Hospital in London.
He received his education at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School and Eton College.
He took a gap year where he travelled to places including Australia and Lesotho.
He also went through officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Harry served with his brother, completed training as a troop leader and served for ten weeks in Helmand Province, Afghanistan from 2007-2008.
His last military deployment was in 2012-2013 with the Army Air Corps for 20 weeks before resigning from the Army in June 2015.
Following in his mother's footsteps of philanthropy, he launched the Invictus Games in 2014, remaining a patron to this day.
Despite the Palace stripping him of his military roles and patronages, he remains a patron of the Invictus Games as confirmed by the organisers.
In 2018, Prince Harry married Meghan Markle. They met in 2016 after being set up on a blind date by a friend.
The couple enjoyed a short period where their relationship was kept a secret until l it was revealed in the press.
Upon the announcement of their engagement, there was an outpouring of good wishes for the couple.
However, there was an unfortunate amount of negative comments directed at the couple, especially Meghan, because of her background.
The negativity directed at Meghan appeared to worsen after they were married, so the couple decided to step down from their senior royal positions.
This announcement was hugely controversial, however, the couple has overcome many obstacles, settling in California and welcoming two children.
Prince Archie was born May 6, 2019, and was followed by his sister Princess Lilibet who was born June 4, 2021.
The royal couple are still actively involved in charity work and have a variety of business ventures.
Prince William
Prince William is the eldest son and is heir to the British throne.
He was born in St Mary's Hospital, London and was raised with his younger brother at Kensington Palace in London.
He received his education at the same schools as his brother. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in geography at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
He met his wife Kate Middleton while he was studying there.
William also received military training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before serving with the Blues and Royals.
During his military career, he graduated from the Royal Air Force Cranwell and joined the RAF Search and Rescue Force.
He also served as a full time pilot with the East Anglia Air Ambulance for two years.
As the heir to the throne, he carries out many royal duties on behalf of the British Monarch.
He is patron to over 30 charitable and military organisations including Wales Air Ambulance and London's Air Ambulance charity.

William became Duke of Cambridge prior to his marriage to Kate in April 2011.
They welcomed three children together, Prince George in 2013, Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2018.
