Two Wimbledon fans have become the talk of SW19 after appearing on live television as one drops a mystery item into the other’s drink.

A video has been shared on social media of two men, both wearing sunglasses, sat together during Thursday’s match between Liam Broady and Diego Schwartzman on court three.

In the clip, the camera is focused on two men, who laugh and smile at each other, before the man on the right, with dark hair, reaches out of shot and appears to pinch a mystery item.

He then raises this hand above the other man’s drink, rubbing his thumb and index finger together over the coloured cup.

The dark-haired man is then seen reaching back down, out of shot, and adjusting something.

The video was taken on day four of the championship, at the court hosting UK’s Liam Broady and Diego Schwartzman, from Argentina.

At 3-0 down in the fourth, Broady dug deep and edged a tie-breaker before he showed superb levels of endurance to outlast Schwartzman in the decider and triumph 6-2 4-6 0-6 7-6 (6) 6-1 in three hours and 47 minutes.

Victory for Broady sent him through to the third round at a major for the first time, having previously lost on two occasions in round two at Wimbledon.

On Saturday, he will play Australia’s Alex de Minaur.

Day four saw Britain’s Jack Draper knocked out of Wimbledon in the second round, against no 19 seed Alex de Minaur.

The Australian is following girlfriend Katie Boulter into the third round on Saturday, where he will meet Broady, who enjoyed the thrilling five-set win over Diego Schwartzman.

Boulter delighted Centre Court with a stunning fightback to beat 2021 runner-up Karolina Pliskova. She held back the tears following the match as she dedicated the emotional victory to her gran Jill, who died two days ago.

‘I’m going to get so emotional. I’d like to dedicate it to her,’ she said on Centre Court.

‘It’s been a tough few days for sure. I’ve tried to kind of get my emotions out and deal with the situation, try and keep my head on the tennis.

‘Her favourite tournament was Wimbledon. That’s why it’s a special one for me. She’d watch every single match that was on the TV.’

‘I actually had a phone call from my grandpa the night before I played,’ said the 25-year-old, who is through to the third round of a grand slam for the first time.

‘He didn’t mention anything, but he kind of gave me the inkling that it might be coming. I didn’t know anything until after my first match where my mum basically pulled me aside and told me after the first match.

Also on day four, Heather Watson completed the trio of Brits who won on day four as she beat China’s Wang Qiang in a match that was interrupted by bad light the previous evening.
