A homeless Oregon woman has been arrested and charged for pushing a three-year-old girl onto a train track in a shocking moment captured on video as the city’s homelessness crisis continues.
Brianna Lace Workman, 32, allegedly shoved the little girl onto the Gateway Transit Center MAX platform in Portland on Thursday.
The little girl, wearing a pink coat, was waiting in line with her mother as surveillance footage captured someone in a red hat, allegedly Workman, pushing her face-first onto the metal rail.
Luckily, she was pulled back onto the platform by onlookers. She said she had a severe headache and the local district attorney said she had a red mark on her forehead.

Workman is listed, according to court records, as both homeless and living in Portland.
The district attorney’s office said that the child did nothing to provoke the attack and the woman just came out of nowhere and shoved her.
Workman was charged Thursday with first- and third-degree attempted assault, interfering with public transportation, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.
The DA’s office has recommended that she remain in custody.
Her attorney said in a statement: ‘At Ms. Workman’s request, I am not requesting her release at this time, but I am objecting to the state’s motion of preventative detention.’
Portland is running rampant with homelessness – with the mayor having made plans to create pickleball courts, skate ramp, and bicycle track in a spot known for homeless camping.
Democrat Ted Wheeler has been blamed for crime skyrocketing, with Portland setting a record for murders in 2021.

Streets are now overrun with tent cities, littered with trash – and the issue is scaring away both locals and tourists.
In recent years, Portland has seen an alarming rise in homelessness.

In 2019, the city recorded just over 2,000 homeless individuals.
Less than three years later, that number has risen by 50 percent, now at more than 3,000 living on the streets.
