Adam Thomas’ restaurant ‘goes bust with £300k debt’ ahead of ‘Strictly stint’

Emmerdale: Adam Thomas says 'never say never' to show return

Adam Thomas and his pal Scott Graham opened their restaurant, The Spinn, in Manchester back in 2019. However, the eatery was plunged into difficulty when Covid lockdowns shut it down just six months after it launched.

The friends were determined to make their childhood dream work and switched to a takeaway model as well as opening a second site, The Spinn Off bar.

Despite their efforts, The Spinn, which had employed 12 people, closed permanently in September 2022, with Adam telling MEN that the duo were focussing on their second site and hot sauce business, Oh My Glaze.

This week, the firm Gatley Bar and Grill Ltd, which had reportedly been set up to handle the finances for the business, was formally put into administration.

The Sun reports that documents filed with Companies House show that the business has debts of £293,996, including £71,423 owed to the taxman.

Adam previously said he “had a blast” running the restaurant, but that “the time was right to move on”.

He told MEN in September: “We did what we had to do with The Spinn and we learnt so much building our first venture and more importantly we had an absolute blast.

“But after 3 years we felt the time was right for us to move on. We are now focusing on the next chapter of The Spinn, The Spinn off and Oh My Glaze…
