Adele pauses midway through Las Vegas concert to discuss Titanic sub with fans
During a Las Vegas residency concert, music megastar Adele stopped to ask her audience if they would have explored the wreckage of the Titanic on the ocean floor given the chance. Her question comes following the news that five passengers died on the Titan, a 21ft submersible, after a “catastrophic implosion.”
In a video uploaded by a fan to Tiktok, while seated on stage at the piano Adele says: “Before this week, how many people, if they could, would go down to the very very bottom of the ocean to see the Titanic? Raise your hands,”
After noticing the vast majority of hands remained unraised, she explained that she wasn’t shocked they would not take the opportunity.
The mother-of-one continued down the rabbit hole, asking if anyone in the crowd would go on a trip in a rocket ship to space, MailOnline reports.
When seeing again that the majority would not, she confessed: “I wouldn’t do either, but only because I’m a bit of a p**sy. I’m a scaredy cat,” before admitting she doesn’t even “go on rollercoasters.”

She added: “I just genuinely don’t have an interest in the deep sea or space, so that’s why.”
But Adele, who celebrated her 2018 birthday with a Titanic theme, admitted she did find both the topics “interesting.”
In a 30th birthday do inspired by the 1997 romance and disaster epic, Adele dressed as Rose, portrayed by Kate Winslet in James Cameron’s classic.
At the party Adele thanked her “family and friends for entertaining” her “super fandom of the Titanic movie.”
In a post sharing the snaps from the night, her caption read: “Last night was the best night of my life,’ she gushed on Instagram, following the celebrations.
“I’m absolutely f**ked, not sure I’ll make it out the house again.”

Adele said in March that her Las Vegas home at The Collosseum at Caesars Palace had “brought” her “back to life.”
She said at a show earlier this year: “I feel so safe in here. My life is tiny. I don’t really leave my house and that’s by choice. My life used to be massive when I was younger. But it is like the bigger my career has got, the more scared and anxious I have become.
”I hang out with my dogs, my son and my boyfriend, and chat away with my housekeeper. On Friday and Saturdays, I really look forward to coming [to Vegas] and it feels like having a night out and seeing my friends. It’s brought me back to life.
“I usually get butterflies and get nervous and I say a little stage prayer and cross my fingers, but I don’t get anxious with these shows. It has been the best four months of my career. This show has brought me so much joy. I have loved doing it.”
The hitmaker also reportedly got teary-eyed as she talked about her late notice cancellation of the residency last year, calling it “the worst thing I’d ever felt in my career.”
Adele cited the “London woman” in allowing her to bounce back, saying: “as usual, I smashed it”.
She also disclosed during the same show that she would be extending her residency until November.
The singer announced to the raucous crowd: “Playing to four thousand people for 34 nights is not enough. And I know it’s not enough, so I am coming back.”
She kept the surprises coming, confirming she will release a concert film from the residency.
She said: “And after a few weeks in June I’m going to film it and I’m going to release it to make sure that anyone that wants to see it can see the show,” adding, “And then I’ll be back from August until the end of fall.”
