Adele stops half way through concert to chat about Titanic sub with fans

Megastar Adele paused a concert to ask fans if they'd ever want to go down and see the Titanic wreckage, or go into space.

The singer's questions come after a submersible en route to the shipwreck went missing on June 18, searches later discovered a debris field and it was then declared that the sub had imploded and killed all five people on board.

In a video posted by a concertgoer, Adele, 35, could be seen sitting onstage, alongside a pianist, where she asked: "Before this week, how many people, if they could, would go down to the very very bottom of the ocean to see the Titanic? Raise your hands."

She then asked for those who wouldn't to raise their hands, revealing that she was not surprised that more hands were raised in answer to the second question.

Following this, Adele asked: "How many people, if it wouldn't cost you anything, would go to proper space?" She then pointed out that more had said they'd go to space than go to the Titanic.

Both Adele and her pianist declared they wouldn't do either, with the singer explaining: "I wouldn’t do either, but only because I’m a bit of a p**sy. I’m a scaredy cat. I don't even go on rollercoasters.

She continued: "I just genuinely don’t have an interest in the deep sea or space, so that’s why."

After the video was shared to Twitter by celeb and pop culture gossip page Pop Crave, fans were quick to comment, with one writing: "i love how she’s doing a questionnaire during her show [crying emoji]."

"She needs to have a talk show on the side at some point cuz she's always been funny" added another, while a third wrote: "This residency is so beautiful to watch it feels so intimate, like you’re having a 1-1 gossip with Adele, man I wish I could’ve gone [two crying emojis]"

However, while Adele may not have much interest in the deep sea, or the Titanic itself, she appears to be a massive fan of the film, having previously celebrated her 30th birthday with a Titanic-themed party.

A huge fan of the legendary 1997 movie starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, the Someone Like You singer dressed up as Kate’s character Rose in her recognisable beaded dress.

Sharing some snaps on Instagram at the time, Adele wrote: "Dirty 30! I’m not sure what I’m going to do for the next 30 years as I’ve been blessed beyond words in my life so far.

"Thank you to everyone for coming along for the ride the last 11 years with me. My family and friends for entertaining my super fandom of the Titanic movie.

"Last night was the best night of my life. Here’s a couple pics. I’m absolutely f*cked, not sure I’ll make it out the house again!"
