Love Islands Teddy says I have a voice again in first post-Faye split interview

Teddy Soares has spoken out for the first time on his split from ex-girlfriend Faye Winter.

The former flames met on Love Island in 2021, and went on to move in together shortly after leaving the villa.

While they were one of the last remaining couples from the series, sadly their romance came to an end earlier this year, with Teddy, 28, moving out of their shared home in January.

It wasn’t until February that they confirmed to fans that they’d gone their separate ways.

Now, in his first interview since their break up, Teddy says he feels like he “has a voice again”.

“I have a voice again. I feel like I'm coming out of my shell again and going to events and going out more. Which is really nice,” he told MailOnline.

“[Faye] talks about me in the press and we agreed not to but I don't speak about her,' Teddy continued.

“I've never been through a public break up before so it's difficult seeing it everywhere and seeing things she posts and stuff online.”

Teddy also noted how hard it is to see Faye, 27, share snaps of their dog Bonnie on social media as he hasn’t seen the pooch since January.

His comments come after Faye told OK!she was “grieving” her and Teddy’s romance.

"We’re from very different worlds and we were trying to build a relationship in this very high-pressure environment," she told us.

"We got moulded together, but we had different dreams and ambitions and I had to respect Teddy’s. We were so similar and we got on so well – he’ll forever have a very special place in my heart – and it feels like I’m grieving someone."

An emotional Faye continued: “It’s so hard. I honestly believed he was my soulmate. It’s always hard to come to terms with these things and him not being there to build a life with.”

In light of their break up, 27 year old Faye now plans on freezing her eggs.

Asked how she’d like to see the next few months pan out, Faye says: "Personally, I want to start my journey of freezing my eggs and giving myself some time to fall in love with this new life.

"It’s such a change and now I’m at a point where I’m starting to find myself on my own in this world, I want to fall in love with that."

As Teddy and Faye’s romance sadly comes to an end, it’s believed that their fellow Love Island 2021 co-stars Liam Reardon and Millie Court – who won the series – have rekindled their relationship in recent weeks.
