Christine McGuinness says shes open to dating this year after Paddy split

Christine McGuiness has admitted she is "open" to dating again this year following her split from ex-hubby Paddy McGuiness.

The former model, 34, made the comments in an interview with The Sun where she described the divorce process as "freeing" and said she felt as though she was now in a "totally different stage" in her life.

It comes after she and Paddy, 49, officially ended their 11 year marriage in July with the couple both posting a joint statement to Instagram.

In the statement, Christine and Paddy emphasised that their focus was to "continue loving and supporting" their children. They also said it had not been an "easy decision" and despite the split, they still had a "great relationship".

More than six months on, it appears as though Christine is now ready for love again but admits she is in no "big rush".

She said: "I'm open to it [dating] this year. But I’ve got time. We’ll see what happens. It’s not really something that I’ve got on my radar.

"In your 30s, how do you date? Where do you go? Where do you start? I’ve been with Patrick for 15 years, I’m certainly not in a big rush to jump into anything.”

The 34 year old also admitted that she's had no shortage of interest with some celebrities even sliding into her DMs.

“Yeah, there’s a lot [of DM sliding]", she said, before adding: “It’s been quite fascinating really. I won’t name any names of the celebrities. It shocked me."

However, she said she never responds, saying: "That's not how I wanna meet somebody."

Her openness to start dating again comes after many fans had already begun speculating that she was moving on in December when she was spotted on the celebrity dating app Raya.

Christine says she's "not against" dating apps but says that wasn't her and that she's never used them. She said: "I wouldn’t know where to start. I don’t know why the person set it up. It definitely wasn’t me… this time!"

Christine may be entering a "different stage" in her life but says there is one thing she will be keeping from her marriage – Paddy's surname.

Despite the fact they're no longer together she said she will continue to use her current name as she wants to keep the same name as her children.

She does admit that eventually she will move to Miss.
