Claudia Winkleman’s The Traitors wins BAFTA as fans brand it ‘best show ever’

The Claudia Winkleman-fronted reality TV show, The Traitors, has won the reality and constructed factual award at the TV BAFTAs.

Collecting the prize today, 14 May, at a star-studded ceremony, Claudia, 51, said she and the team are “blown away by this, thank you so much”.

She also thanked the BBC and referenced the meeting where commissioning editors agreed to make the show saying: “We are going to Scotland, we’re going to use the word murder – are you okay with that?”

Fans were quick to flock to social media, branding it "the best show ever" and a well-deserved win.

"Yes the Traitors coming through as a smash and then winning #BAFTATVAwards it's what it deserves," one person tweeted, while another added: "Deserved for The Traitors! So happy to see the nation's Welsh auntie on stage! #BAFTATVAwards."

A third said: "I liked watching the traitors so I’m happy they won #BAFTATV #BAFTATVAwards," while a fourth echoed: "Bafta winners!!!! YES!!! I'm going to get a fringe trim in celebration! #BAFTATVAwards #TheTraitors."
