‘Critics should back off Molly-Mae – I won’t exercise one month after birth but it’s her body,’ says Amy Childs

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs exclusively revealed with OK! that she’s expecting twins with her boyfriend Billy Delbosq – something which came as a shock to the pair.

While Amy, 32, had come off contraception earlier this year, the reality TV star didn’t expect to conceive so quickly as she discovered she was pregnant just two months later. Making the surprise even bigger, she later found out she’s carrying twins.

Now, in her exclusive column for OK! , Amy is charting her pregnancy, and how she feels like she’s “going back to square one” despite having had two babies before.

This week, Amy talks about returning to the gym after pregnancy and ordering a pre-packed hospital bag…

I'm really struggling to sleep

I'm 31 weeks pregnant now so obviously I'm getting a lot bigger and I've been feeling really tired.

The past couple of nights, I've been up at 3:30am, wide awake. Being pregnant with twins, my mind is going like 100 miles an hour, so at half three this morning I was on Boohoo and I was ordering all my night dresses for after the birth. I try to kill time until 6am when my alarm goes to get up with Polly and Ritchie, and Bill is up at 6am every morning to go to the gym.

It's hard to get comfortable with two babies in your tummy, plus the constant weeing. I wee probably 10 times a night.

They do say it's your body getting ready for like the babies to come.

What Molly-Mae does with her body is entirely up to her

Trolls giving Molly-Mae Hague grief about getting back into the gym after having Bambi need to back off – it's her body. It's entirely up to Molly what she wants to do – whatever makes her happy.

You do have to get checked at the hospital and they'll see if you're okay to train. They check your belly and they check your muscles in your stomach. If Molly's had the all clear from her doctors, and she's happy and wants to do it, then that's great.

After I give birth, I've got loads of stuff going on, so I think training for me probably won't be the the first thing I'm thinking about.

It's definitely something I'll get back to in the next couple of months after the twins come. At the end of the day, I could be having a C section and they they don't advise exercise after for 12 weeks.

At the minute the gym is probably not top of my list but it's up to her – whatever she wants to do. For me, with Polly I 'bounced back' really quickly. I bounced back after about six weeks. Of course, you have a little bit of a belly but you can train for a couple of weeks and get rid of it.

You do feel big towards the end of pregnancy and you do put on loads of weight so a little bit of exercise is good for your body but good for your mental health too.

Getting a pre-packed hospital suitcase has saved me so much hassle

Someone has done my bag for me, which is absolutely amazing. Everything is pretty much sorted for when I have to go in to hospital.

Frankie Essex told me about this company, Neve Maria, and it is incredible. You get your towels, you get your blankets… obviously we've got just put the twins' stuff in there, like baby grows, but she's put a nappies in, moisturiser and hair stuff like shampoo and conditioner.

I had said to Bill, "We need to go to Sainsbury's and get our hospital bag done and get all of my toiletries," but she's put deodorant in and everything. This bag is incredible – everyone needs it!

My advice for any new mums heading to the hospital to give birth is to overpack – you never know how long you'll be in there for.

For example, for the twins I'll double up on everything, but then I'll double up again. I could be having a C section and staying there for several nights – anything can happen.

I've got my three bags, all we've got to do now is Bill's bag now because obviously he'll be with me. We've got the car seats all up, and we did the pram on Monday. This week, I'm feeling really organised. The changing unit's going up today and we've got Moses baskets coming next week. We're quite organised really!

Polly saw the babies for the first time

We went for a scan last Friday and Polly came with us – it was her first time seeing the babies. She was so happy to see them, but she is really over me being pregnant now and keeps asking when they're coming!

Come back next week to hear more about Amy's pregnancy.
