Ekin-Sus pal calls for Love Islander to steal £50k prize pot from Davide if they win

Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s pal has said that she wants her to “steal the prize money” if she wins the show.

The Love Island final is in just two weeks and fan favourite Ekin-Su, 27, looks to be in with a good chance in reaching the end stages and receiving the £50,000 cash prize, along with her partner in the villa Davide Sanclimenti.

For the last few series of Love Island, the final has featured a Golden Balls-inspired twist, as the two winners are given the option to either split or steal the prize pot.

However, the twist has sadly proven to be very anti-climactic, as every single couple has chosen love over money, and split the cash.

Ekin-Su’s friend Mabel is hoping this could change if the Turkish actress wins, and has pushed for her steal the money if this is the case.

Appearing on the Murad Merali podcast, Mabel – who is looking after Ekin-Su's social media accounts at the moment – said: “I just want her to take the money. I just want to see someone steal the money, so I can just be like, ‘yes, this is great TV.’ I think it will be great if someone steals this year. It will be so good.”

Host Murad Merali added: “I think that [Ekin-Su and Davide] would be the couple to steal.”

Mabel agreed as she continued: “It’s just like, when you’re seeing someone in real life, in the outside world, would you normally just give them half your money? No.”

The pal shared on the podcast that she met the Islander while at a hot tub party sipping on cocktails and the pair instantly bonded over their love for Turkish dramas.

Mabel also discussed her thoughts on Ekin-Su's situation with exited bombshell Jay Younger earlier on in the series. Ekin-Su had been in a couple with Davide, 27, before she cracked on with Jay shortly after his arrival.

She said: “I mean what she did probably isn’t the best thing to do, but I feel like the only reason she did that, was because she wasn’t getting what she wanted from Davide."

Mabel later said: “She had a really bad patch of hate, when she did that madness with Jay. It was so intense, like I couldn't believe it.”

Though Ekin-Su received backlash from viewers following her actions, she has since got back in fans’ good books.

Mabel added that she champions Ekin-Su's romance with Davide and hopes it continues, as she admitted: “I’m not gonna lie, Davide has met his match with Ekin-Su.”
