Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West lead The Crown stars at glitzy season five premiere

The cast of The Crown was out in full force at the season five premiere in London on Tuesday evening.

The cast of the hit Netflix show gathered at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for the swish event, with many of them wearing black as a nod of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth, whose life the series is based on.

Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, who will make her debut as Princess Diana in season five, looked a vision on the red carpet as she was seen beside her co-star and onscreen husband, Dominic West, who portrays King Charles III.

Elizabeth, 32, wore a beautiful flowing strapless gown with a cut-out reveal at the side, and a matching scarf that trailed behind her as a train.

The actress styled her blonde hair in a loose updo and looked stunning as she sported a rosy pink make-up palette.

Dominic, 53, looked dapper as he wore a black suit, matching bow tie and a white shirt, and was seen posing with his onscreen partner inside the venue after arrival.

Leading the new series is actress Imelda Staunton, who makes her debut playing the Queen, and the star’s presence was certainly felt as she graced the red carpet on Tuesday.

The actress, 66, rocked a longline black blazer with a pair of matching tailored trousers and a tie, along with a tucked-in white shirt.

Imelda smiled in her sleek fit, accessorising her statement look with a pair of black pointed boots and a matching clutch.

Gillian Anderson returns this season as late former Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher, and looked miles away from her character's prim skirt suits, as she wore a chic black embellished gown at the premiere.

The X Files actress had her hair styled in a bouffant updo and paired her dress with silver strappy heels, for a dazzling finish.

Olivia Williams, who portrays Camilla Parker Bowles in the series, stood out in red as she wore a vibrantly-coloured suit with flared trousers and feather trim across the jacket.

The actress rocked red lipstick to match her look and accessorised her outfit with a pair of silver drop earrings and a grey suede clutch.

Socialite Emma Weymouth also attended the premiere, and looked ravishing in a sweeping black gown and a matching cropped cardigan, and added a pair of embellished drop earrings to complete her elegant look.

Viewers can catch The Crown season five as it is released on Netflix on 9 November.
