Ellie Goulding's husband Caspar Jopling enjoys a solo night out

Ellie Goulding steps out WITHOUT her £70k engagement ring as she attends Serpentine bash with husband Caspar Jopling… before he leaves to party without her amid ‘marital strife’ claims

Ellie Goulding went without her wedding and engagement ring when she attended the Serpentine Summer Party with her husband Caspar Jopling on Tuesday.

The songstress appeared at the event alongside her husband – who went on to party without her later in the night – just days before it was reported that they are spending time apart after being hit by struggles in their four-year marriage.

At the party, Ellie wore a dramatic leather ensemble and spent much of her time in front of cameras with her hand in her pocket, however it was abundantly clear her left hand was free of the £70k ring she was given by Caspar in 2018.

Just hours after the event, the couple appeared to go their separate ways as art dealer Caspar decided to continue the party and hit the town with friends at Chiltern Firehouse following the swanky bash.

He was seen with friends including Tiffany Zabludowicz, the daughter of British-Finnish-Israeli billionaire businessman Poju Zabludowicz and fellow art collector.

Heading off: The art dealer enjoyed a night out with friends at the swanky establishment

The couple welcomed their first child together, son Arthur in 2021.

However, sources are claiming that due to their busy schedules, their marriage has begun to suffer, and they’ve decided to spend some time separately. It’s thought that the pair are still close, and continue to co-parent their son.

Ellie and Caspar began dating in 2017 and tied the knot two years later in a romantic ceremony at York Minster.

Despite the claims, Ellie and Caspar have been spotted together on multiple occasions, leading some friends they may be able to rebuild their marriage.

A source told The Sun: ‘There have been ups and downs for a while, but they have always strongly felt they wanted to stay together so they could both be with their son.

‘In the end they’ve tried to find a compromise where they continue to share lots of time together for their son Arthur, but outside of that sometimes live separate lives for now.

‘There is no discussion of a divorce and neither of them have been in a new relationship – the priority is to keep good friends and remain amicable whilst they work out their next steps, so they can stay close and enjoy being mum and dad to Arthur.’

A representative for the couple declined to comment when contacted by the publication. MailOnline has contacted representatives for Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling for comment.

Struggles: The couple, who married in 2019, are said to be spending time separately after their marriage began to suffer due to their hectic schedules

Ellie and Caspar married in August 2019 at York Minster, and first learned they were expecting their son while celebrating their one-year anniversary in 2020.

The award-winning artist revealed in April of 2021 that she was embracing her new pregnancy figure.

In an interview, the songwriter said: ‘A revelation: I’ve always had a runner’s body and now I have a bigger ass and these rather nice boobs!’

The fitness enthusiast also detailed her pregnancy cravings, admitting she has a penchant for tinned sardines and Weetabix Minis, and has even visited McDonald’s twice in the last eight months.

On her eating habits, the songwriter added to The Telegraph’s Stella Magazine: ‘[tinned sardines and Weetabix Minis] aren’t eaten at the same time… it was only two [times she went to McDonalds!’].

The Starry Eyed hitmaker also touched on discovering she was pregnant at eight weeks during a romantic trip to Italy for her first wedding anniversary.

Ellie said: ‘I thought I had an iron deficiency and got blood tests, which came back fine but my progesterone levels were high…

‘I then started struggling a bit with exercise. That was a sign for me something had changed.’

The star echoed her comments when she announced her baby news with Vogue, sharing: ‘I want a better word than womanly, [but]—I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.

‘I actually went from being smug about how healthy my salads were and my breakfasts and eating nuts and seeds, and then all I wanted was McDonalds.

‘And I was kind of terrified, I suddenly wanted all of the bad things! Whatever this baby did when it took over my body was like ”Hell no—I do not want broccoli, spinach, collards! I just wanted sugar and carbs.”’
