Faye Brookes gushes over fiancé at event – but risks run in with ex Gareth Gates

Former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes gushed over her fiancé Iwan Lewis at the press night of The Great British Bake Off Musical at London's Noel Coward Theatre on Monday night.

However, she risked a run-in with her ex-fiancé Gareth Gates as he also attended the event.

Cutting a stylish figure, Faye donned a black lace mini skirt and matching cardigan, which she paired with some black tights for the occasion.

She accessorised with a gold necklace, and showed off her engagement ring on her finger, alongside some other fashionable bling.

Faye's ex, singer Gareth Gates, was also snapped at the event, at which he wore some beige trousers and a black T-shirt, to which he added a black scarf and a pair of trainers.

Speaking to press at the event, Faye gushed over her fiancé Iwan, telling the MailOnline: "I can't give too much away, but I can tell you I'm the happiest I've ever been. I've been best friends with this man since I was 19 years of age.

"He's been in my life for a very long time and I think Iwan has always been there.

"And I think it's just really, really lovely that I now get to share my world and his world and also just be completely authentically me and just enjoy this life together.

"Finally, I found my match!"

Iwan popped the question to Faye on New Year's Eve, after being together for four months.

The happy couple exclusively shared the news with OK! with Faye telling us: "We’re thrilled to announce that Iwan and I are engaged.

"He proposed on New Year’s Eve. I am going to be marrying my best friend in the world after 16 years of friendship."

The former Coronation Street star has had a string of high-profile relationships in the past including an engagement to Gareth Gates, and a long-term romance with personal trainer Joe Davies.

Faye and Gareth called time on their engagement in 2019, with reports at the time suggesting that this was over his "controlling behaviour" after he allegedly insisted that she made him her manager.

The claims were later rubbished by a source close to Gareth, who told OK!: "I don’t know who is feeding the press these made up stories! I’m sure if you even asked Faye whether these stories are true, she’d say exactly the same.

"Gareth has never and would never have any interest in managing Faye’s career. He wouldn’t know where to start with managing an actress!"
