FKA Twigs Exits Met Gala Party Due to Ex Robert Pattinson and His New Girlfriend
If a new report is to be believed, the ‘Cellophane’ songstress leaves the post-Met Gala bash after seeing the ‘Twilight’ star, to whom she used to be engaged, and his new model lover Suki Waterhouse.
AceShowbiz –FKA Twigs took a U-turn so quickly to avoid having an awkward run-in with her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson and his new girlfriend. If a new report is to be believed, the pop singer left the post-Met Gala bash after seeing the “Twilight” star and his new model lover Suki Waterhouse.
A source told Page Six that Twigs was happily partying at a starry party at the Box which was hosted by Richie Akiva, Doja Cat and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs on Monday, May 1. She also took some pictures with her current beau Jordan Hemingway.
However, the “MAGDALENE” artist allegedly was forced to end the fun-filled night early. She was said to be heading to the Lower East Side side streets as soon as she caught a glimpse of Pattinson and Waterhouse at the same event.
Twigs and “The Batman” star started dating in September 2014. The former couple got engaged only seven months later but later called it quits in 2017.
“They were almost inseparable for their first two years together. But in recent months they have really started to drift apart and have been spending less and less time together,” a source told The Sun of their breakup at the time.
The informant added, “Rob… has called off their engagement and told friends they have split. With so much history between them, though, there are still strong feelings there. It’s a difficult situation but things have become tough between them for some time and they both know they were no longer working as a couple.”
After splitting from Twigs, Pattinson was rumored to be dating Waterhouse. The lovebirds, however, only made their red carpet debut as a couple at a Dior fashion show in Giza, Egypt late last year.
As for Twigs, she moves on with director and photographer Jordan Hemingway. Earlier this year, the British star officially introduced him in an Instagram post. “The whole of my career i’ve been hunted for who i am dating. so this time i’m pipping you to the post and taking control of the situation,” the “Cellophane” singer wrote at the time.
Calling Hemingway “a beautiful artist whose heart has restored my faith in love,” Twigs continued, “Pap pics will always be rough so swipe for the hot pics. and now i’d like to go back to my nice private life with the dogs.”
