Gordon Ramsay is a regular with his much-loved daughter Holly, an influencer, at Grand Prix racing events all over the world. However, behind the scenes, the “terrified” star had struggled to mend her relationship with alcohol following a sex attack, before going completely teetotal in a bid to salvage her “physical and mental health”.

She recently penned a poignant post celebrating two years of total sobriety, having told the world she is now in “control”.

“Today marks two years since I last had alcohol,” Holly wrote to her 315,000 Instagram followers on December 21.

“Two years ago today I hit rock bottom, I was terrified.

“I certainly didn’t think I would be where I am today both physically and mentally,” she elaborated, adding that she had “fought every day since to get where I am [now]”.

“I am so grateful to so many people for their support, encouragement and endless love,” she continued.

“I will continue to learn and grow every day. I feel lucky to be able to use my voice to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health.”

Holly has made no secret of the difficulties she has had with alcohol addiction over the years, and dad Gordon revealed his “pride” last year that she had taken steps to change matters.

Last year, he responded to a post pledging to stay sober by writing: “What an incredible young lady and words can’t explain enough how proud you make me feel – love you so much, Dad.”

Holly’s alcohol addiction began at age 18 when she experienced two sexual assaults.

The resulting trauma led to her being diagnosed with PTSD and turning to alcohol to cope.

Discussing her experiences on her podcast 21 And Over, she explained: “I was at my lowest and I was scared but I made a decision to take control of what I could – and that meant removing alcohol from my life.

“It was not an easy decision, nor one that I have taken lightly. I won’t say this is forever, but this is for now.”

The 22-year-old added that she would prefer to “work through” her problems “consciously” instead of drinking to excess to mask her emotions.

She also discovered that “alcohol and antidepressants do not mix well at all”, something which she says she “learned the hard way”.

Holly says she is now taking one day at a time, and has sent out her love to “anyone who needs it” among her 315,000 followers.

Fans praised her for her “bravery” and “willingness to share your experience” to help others.

Meanwhile, Holly has been spotted having fun at a string of high-profile events.

She attended Victoria Beckham’s glitzy catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week in a VB Body creation, which was admiringly praised by Victoria herself back in October, and she was also spotted partying at Soho House.

She also regularly goes out on the town with Gordon, who can sometimes be seen protectively holding her hand.

Earlier this year, she and Gordon attended Grand Prix events in Italy, Austria and Saudi Arabia to name just a few.
