Harry and Charles to ‘mend bridges’ at Coronation, hopes Fern Britton

Former This Morning presenter Fern Britton, 65, shared her thoughts with more than 130,000 Twitter followers after hearing the news that Prince Harry will attend King Charles’ Coronation.

She said: “By the way, I am very glad Prince Harry is coming to see his father crowned.

“May there be bridges mended.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed on Wednesday that the Duke of Sussex, 38, will attend after much speculation and earlier reports that the couple received an invite in March.

They announced: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

The former actress, 41, will instead celebrate Prince Archie’s birthday, which falls on the Coronation date.

Confirmed attendees to the ceremony include royals from Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Monegasque and Japan.

Prince George, nine, will also be prominent at his grandfather’s coronation.

The Palace confirmed that the Prince, second-in-line to the throne, would be one of four Pages of Honour to the King, alongside family friends.

He will carry the long trains of the King and Queen Consort’s ceremonial robes through a procession through Westminster Abbey.

It is also yet to be confirmed whether the Duke of Sussex will join the other members of the Royal Family on the palace balcony following the ceremony.

Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed: “The King is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his ‘darling boy’, will be at the Abbey.

“He wanted him there. It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation.”

Harry’s attendance at the Coronation comes after his critique of the family in the couple’s six-part Netflix series and his memoir Spare.

Both divided royal fans when details of the tensions between himself, Meghan and the other royals were shared.

The 410-page book includes a series of bombshell revelations, including a physical altercation with Prince William and details of him losing his virginity.
