Here's Why Leah Remini Allegedly Skipped Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Wedding
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding wasn’t short on celebrities, but one person who wasn’t in attendance? Jennifer’s close friend Leah Remini, whose absence from the wedding has pretty much everyone spiraling / worrying they may not be as close anymore.
However! TMZ reports that Leah skipping the wedding was not a snub. She simply was spending time with her daughter, Sofia, who’s about to leave for college.

TMZ reports that Leah was invited to the wedding and that she and J.Lo are “very close” like “sisters.” They also note that the pair still follow each other on Instagram, so everything seems good—at least from a social media stand point.
Meanwhile, Leah has only ever been super supportive of Jen and Ben. In fact, they went Instagram official on her account—in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment from her birthday:

And Jen shared a throwback of Leah trolling her by the pool just a few months ago in March:

Their friendship actually goes wayyyyy back to 2004, when they met at the premiere of Man on Fire.
“I was friends with Marc Anthony and then he started dating Jennifer, and he was doing a film,” Leah told Entertainment Tonight. “I went to premiere and he said, ‘You have to meet Jennifer!’ And he was telling Jennifer, ‘You have to meet Leah and Angelo,’ my husband. So, we went to the premiere hoping she was gonna be ugly in real life. And then, when I was approaching her, I was like, ‘I hope it’s the lighting. Maybe she just looks good in here,’ and as I got closer I was like, ‘Oh damn, there’s a lot of light right here and she looks really pretty. I even said that! I said, ‘Goddamnit, why the fuck why are you so fucking pretty?’ And she laughed. [Then] I was like, ‘Ugh, I hope she’s dumb, ya know? I was like, ‘She could be dumb!’ I wanted to find something and I didn’t.”
J.Lo added that, “It was one of those instant chemistry things, where you just feel like, ‘I love this person. I love being around this person. This person makes me laugh.’ She’s cool and we also have very similar upbringings. That’s why we work well together.”
