How Myleene Klass, 45, is cashing in on THAT iconic shower scene

Isn’t that a bit of a cheeky way to sell your white bikini, Myleene? How I’m A Celeb star, 45, is cashing in on THAT iconic shower scene 17 years later – as she launches her own swimwear range to coincide with appearance on all-star edition of the show

It was one of the most talked-about moments in reality TV history, propelling Myleene Klass to new heights of fame.

Now – 17 years after she donned her white bikini to shower in the I’m A Celebrity jungle – the musician is cashing in on the memorable image by launching her own range of swimwear.

And it just so happens to coincide with her appearance on a new all-star version of the show.

On Friday, she wowed ITV viewers in a white £145 Mouna bikini top almost identical to the one which made her name in 2006 – just days after she launched a very similar design as part of her range with Next for a more wallet-friendly £22.

The mother of three even built up expectation for her outfit with a social media post earlier on Friday, teasing her 425,000 Instagram followers: ‘My white bikini makes an appearance in the jungle tonight after 17 years.’

It was accompanied by a short, fast-paced montage of her in various white two-pieces, making sure she tagged Next’s Instagram account.

It was the fourth appearance of a white bikini on her account this month, first modelling it on April 3 while riding a bicycle.

Last Tuesday, a tongue-in-cheek video showed her preparing for the show by handing herself a bikini top, and on Thursday she posted a video of herself playing the piano wearing only the skimpy swimsuit, captioned: ‘Do you live in your white bikini? Me…’

She first modelled the bikini in a shot on April 3, in which she posed while riding a bike. Sources have said it seems to be a coordinated marketing campaign

But that fee could be boosted considerably if the show’s five million viewers flock to buy her swimwear.

Unlike other I’m A Celebrity series, which go out on the day they are filmed, this season was taped in September, giving plenty of time to co-ordinate a marketing campaign.

One source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Call me an old cynic, but the launch of her range appears to have been timed rather nicely.

‘And it seems a bit off that she may be giving her social media followers the idea that her Next bikini is the same as the much pricier designer version she wears on screen.’

Ms Klass was seen in her bikini again last night, and The Mail on Sunday can reveal that before the series ends next month, there will be a ‘full-on’ scene of her in the swimwear. Sources suggested it will be a recreation of the shower scene.

Ms Klass’s now iconic two-piece had been a last-minute impulse buy from a beachside shop in Australia’s Gold Coast just before she entered the jungle.

‘Best $40 (£22) I ever spent,’ she joked. It later fetched £7,500 for charity at auction.

Both ITV and Ms Klass’s spokesman declined to comment.
