James Corden dubbed 'most abusive' guest ever at NYC restaurant, more celeb news ICYMI

Bad behavior

A famed New York City restaurateur branded James Corden “the most abusive customer” he’s had in 25 years. On Oct. 17, Balthazar owner Keith McNally publicly banned the comedy star from the restaurant, calling the “Late Late Show” host “a tiny Cretin of a man.” He then detailed multiple incidents detailing how the TV host allegedly mistreated restaurant staff. Shortly after the ripping, Keith lifted the ban, revealing James reached out and “apologized profusely.” After the unbanning, several notable hospitality titans including Stratis Morfogen and Todd English said James was pleasant with their staff.

Lawsuit coming?

The mother of George Floyd’s daughter has threatened to file a $250 million lawsuit against Kanye West after the rapper publicly declared that the Minnesota man didn’t die at the hands of police, but rather from a drug overdose. “Kanye’s comments are a repugnant attempt to discount George Floyd’s life and to profit from his inhumane death,” Gianna Floyd’s lawyer said. A different attorney said the comments Ye made on the “Drink Champs” podcast were retraumatizing the young girl and “creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.” On Oct. 18, CNN reported that a cease-and-desist letter was drafted for Ye. The episode of “Drink Champs” that the rapper-deisgner appeared on has been removed from YouTube. In more Ye news, he told Piers Morgan on Oct. 19 that he’s not sorry about the antisemitic comments he made the previous week and admitted he knows they were racist.

Addiction details

Matthew Perry is revealing the depths of his addiction issues. In an interview with People magazine promoting his new book, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” which comes out on Nov. 1, the actor said he’s been to rehab 15 times and was once given a 2% chance to live. During the chat, the “Friends” alum revealed he spent weeks fighting for his life after his colon burst from opioid overuse in 2018 — two weeks in a coma and five months in the hospital. He then had to use a colostomy bag for nine months. At one point, Matthew was taking 55 Vicodin pills a day and weighed 128 pounds. Although he won’t say how long he’s been sober, the “17 Again” actor said the scars from 14 surgeries on his stomach are a reminder of his past.  “My therapist said, ‘The next time you think about taking Oxycontin, just think about having a colostomy bag for the rest of your life,'” he recalled. “And a little window opened and I crawled through it and I no longer want Oxycontin anymore.”

Nanny drama

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde’s former nanny is airing out their dirty laundry, although the exes claim she’s peddling falsehoods. On Oct. 17, the nanny detailed what she alleged really happened behind closed doors when the duo split, and she provided DailyMail.com with apparent text messages to back up her claims including one alleging that Jason threw himself under Olivia’s car to keep her from going to see new beau Harry Styles. The Emmy-winning actor reportedly discovered details of the early days of her Harry romance after reading messages on an Apple watch that Olivia left behind while she was filming “Don’t Worry Darling,” in which Harry stars. Jason, the nanny said, was heartbroken when Olivia left him for the younger singer-actor. Still, Jason and Olivia came together to slam the nanny, insisting many of the claims are untrue. “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” the former couple said in a statement obtained by Page Six. “Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

Fighting for Ukraine

Conor Kennedy, who famously dated Taylor Swift in 2012 for several months, went on a secret mission to Ukraine to help defend the country against Russian forces. Conor, the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., shared on Instagram on Oct. 14 that he joined Ukraine’s International Legion with no military experience. Still, the 28-year-old is adamant that he was “willing to die” in Ukraine. In his lengthy Instagram message, John F. Kennedy’s great-nephew said the war is “horrific” but he believes it’s a “revolution.” “This war will shape the fate of democracy in this century. There’s more to say about its politics and the role of western governments there,” Conor wrote. “For now, I’ll only urge you to help in your personal capacity. Join the legion, help on the border, or send medical supplies. Every day, someone there sacrifices everything for a lasting peace. They can’t be asked to act alone.”

Last dance

Selma Blair was forced to gracefully bow out of “Dancing With the Stars” due to her multiple sclerosis. “I had these MRIs and the results came back and it just all adds up to I can’t go on with the competition. I pushed as far as I could,” she told pro partner Sasha Farber in a rehearsal package for the Disney+ show that aired on Oct. 17. “With a chronic illness, you do need special considerations. My body is definitely taking a hit. It’s way too much for the safety of my bones. There’s just intensive bone trauma and inflammation and rips and tears that of course I do not want.” Explaining that she wanted to perform one final time, the “Cruel Intentions” actress danced a “gentle” waltz before her tearful exit — and earned a perfect score from the judges.

Infamous woman arrested

Divine Brown, the woman at the center of Hugh Grant’s infamous 1995 arrest, is in serious legal trouble, and she could be facing 30 years in jail for allegedly abusing a teenager in Georgia. On Oct. 16, The Mirror reported that earlier this year, Divine (real name: Estella Marie Thompson) was charged with battery, cruelty to children, possession of drugs and smuggling suspected cocaine into a jail. Back in the mid-’90s, Divine and Hugh were both arrested after they were caught in the midst of a lewd act in Los Angeles. Divine quickly capitalized on the moment and made a fortune from TV appearances, interviews and work in the adult film industry.

Legal win

Kevin Spacey was found not liable for battery in a sex abuse lawsuit brought by actor Anthony Rapp. On Oct. 20, a jury concluded that the “Star Trek: Discovery” actor didn’t prove that Kevin “touched a sexual or intimate part” of Anthony’s body back in 1986. The jury deliberated for about an hour before reaching a verdict. While the Oscar winner is off the hook in this case and another one in Nantucket, Massachusetts, his most serious legal challenges await: He’s still facing four counts of sexual assault against three men in the United Kingdom.
