James Corden quietly parted ways from Weight Watchers last year after his ‘multi-year’ deal ran its course, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal – two months after the star was accused of being rude to restaurant staff in NYC.

The Late Late Show presenter, 44, who has been accused of ‘diva-like’ strops in recent months, and whose Multi-Year Global Partnership with the slimming brand was revealed in January 2021, has been removed from the brand’s UK and US websites.

There is no insinuation the deal ended due to Corden’s spat with restaurant Balthazar in October.

Corden’s spokesman told DailyMail.com: ‘The deal with WW was successfully completed last year having run its course. Both parties are happy and on good terms.’

Corden, who will end his eight-year stateside presenting stint on The Late Late Show at the end of April, was heralded as one of the brand’s most high profile success stories, doing interviews and promotions about his 35lb weight loss during his time in LA,

The press release from 2021 announcing Corden’s ambassadorial role including a link to his personal page on the brand’s website – although that link now redirects to a generic blog with no mention of the star.

Marketing experts say that the Corden deal was worth ‘millions’ with a source exclusively telling DailyMail.com: ‘James was the poster boy for WW especially in the USA. He was on TV commercials and talking about it on his show and in media interviews at first.

‘His weight loss journey drew headlines and people noticed how successful he was. However that has not happened recently and with him leaving America for the UK, there will be less eyeballs on him in the States.’

DailyMail.com has also contacted representatives for Weight Watchers for comment.

Corden made headlines when after six months with the programme, he announced that he had lost an impressive 35lbs on The Howard Stern Show.

Speaking to People in 2021, James said: ‘I want to be better for my children and for my family. I don’t want to wake up tired, or feel embarrassed when I’m chasing my son on the soccer field and I’m out of breath after three minutes.

‘The weight is not the issue, it’s the wellness I am ready to tackle. I’m going to take this year and work towards getting healthy.’

He added: ‘All my family are on Weight Watchers now,’ James added. ‘My sisters are on it and they’re doing great, my parents are on it,’ he said.

High-profile: Corden’s deal was originally announced as a ‘a Multi-Year Global Partnership’ and ended after two years

His wife Julia Carey has also been a huge motivator when it comes to exercising.

When his brand deal was announced, it was revealed James would follow the new myWW+ which offers a holistic approach to weight loss and wellness by focusing on the pillars of health that have a measurable impact on success including – food, activity, mindset and sleep.

James has been candid about his weight struggles in the past and back in 2017 he shed six stone in weight and found major success in Hollywood, however he has also admitted the one food that he can’t stop eating is bread.

Speaking about the last time he was ‘off bread’ for dietary reasons, James recalled an incident while he was out at dinner saying: ”[I have] a sort of battle with food…

‘Then they delivered this basket of warm, fresh bread and we’re like, “It’s happening, we’re doing it. Who are we trying to kid?” ‘It’s our nemesis, it’s out to destroy us!’

Anna Hill, General Manager of WW UK, said: ‘We’d like to say a huge welcome to James Corden who has joined the WW family today!…

‘This announcement is particularly special for the UK as it’s where his career began and where he remains a much loved and familiar star…

‘We thank James for sharing his story in such an honest and heartfelt way and embracing the power of our community to galvanise the nation to put their health first and make 2021 a more positive year.

Post: Corden was temporarily barred from New York City restaurant Balthazar following an incident with an omelet

Corden, pictured left  on October 9 during the 2022 New Yorker Festival at SVA Theatre, was branded a ‘tiny cretin of a man’ by Balthazar’s owner Keith McNally, right

‘James has joined WW and started his wellness journey at a critical time for the nation’s health and wellbeing. Recent WW research says that 4 in 10 Brits feel less happy and healthy than a year ago and, like James, 83% are ‘looking for help with their wellness journey’.

WW CEO and President, Mindy Grossman added: ‘James has the distinct ability to inspire people through his vulnerability, his humility and through his humor…

‘We are beyond fortunate to have him as our global partner as he shares his poignant perspective during a time when it’s more important than ever to prioritize our health.

This comes amid a host of allegations about the star’s professional conduct and six months after he was banned from NYC restaurant Balthazar after a heated complaint about an order.

Corden ate at the SoHo restaurant on October 9 and complained so harshly about his order that Keith McNally banned him from ever returning.

In an Instagram post, the restaurateur also told how the actor turned TV host had verbally abused his staff last summer and shouted at one server: ‘You can’t do your job!’

McNally, who has a colorful history of booting out celebrities of his exclusive restaurants, claims that Corden also behaved similarly at his former restaurant, Cafe Luxembourg, on several occasions and left one server ‘shaken’.

He posted earlier two separate examples of Corden’s ‘extremely nasty’ behavior at the French brasserie in New York’s Soho district on his Instagram account.

The 71-year-old started his post by calling the funnyman a ‘hugely gifted comedian’, before laying into his fellow Brit – who regularly tucks into meals with celebrities as part of a game on the show.

The furious owner said that he ’86’d’ the star – which means you have been banned – and claims Corden found a hair in his main course when dining there in June, before demanding free drinks for the mistake.

Being 86’d is thought to have originated at Greenwich Village speakeasy bar, Chumley’s, on 86 Bedford Street, which had no address on the door – with guests ’86ing’ themselves from the premises if there was any trouble.

He said: ‘After eating his main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G. who was very apologetic.

‘Corden was extremely nasty to G, and said: ‘Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that.”

In a second incident McNally claims that Corden was dining with his wife, Julia Carey, at the eatery on October 9 for brunch.

He says that Corden asked for a table outside, and Carey ordered an egg yolk omelet with a salad.

The couple complained to the server that there was ‘a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk’  and sent the dish back.

McNally added: ‘The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad.

‘That’s when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelet myself!’

M.K (server) was very apologetic and brought G. (floor manager) over to the table.

‘He returned the dish, and after that, everything was fine.  He gave them promo Champagne glasses to smooth things out.

‘G. said that Corden was pleasant to him but nasty to the server. M.K. was very shaken, but professional that she is, continued to finish her shift.’

But just hours after his initial post, McNally updated the story, saying he had received a call from Corden apologizing for his behavior earlier in the month.

‘James Corden just called me and apologized profusely,’ McNally wrote. ‘Having f***** up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances.

‘So if James Corden lets me host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I’ll immediately rescind his ban from Balthazar. No, of course not.

‘But….anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar.

‘So Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. All is Forgiven. xx’

Earlier this month director Craig Duncan, who worked with Corden on a British gameshow in 2013, fanned the flames by launching a particularly personal attack on the comedian.

Duncan called him the ‘most difficult and obnoxious presenter’ he has ever worked with. Corden, he claimed, swore at staff on set and called Duncan ‘stupid.’

‘I hope I never, ever work with [James] again,’ Duncan added.

Corden’s team have so far remained silent on the claim.

Now, to make matters worse, a source who previously worked for Corden on The Late Late Show has spoken exclusively to DailyMail.com and given their own account of the star’s prickly off-screen personality.

‘James dug his grave and he can cry all he wants, but he did this to himself,’ the source said. ‘His staff stood behind him for so long, but it got very old. His ego was over the top and he truly believed he was untouchable.’

‘It’s not sad. It is karma. Many people left his shows because he did not treat people the way that they deserved to be treated,’ the former staffer added.

This comes as Corden admits moving back to the UK from Hollywood will leave his work future ‘unstable’ and that he has ‘never felt this scared’ in his professional life.

Talking at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, he admitted it was ‘unnatural’ to walk away from his multi million dollar US TV gig, acknowledging it could be his career pinnacle.

Corden feels his decision to quit Hollywood and move back to the UK for his family was right, but he has ‘never felt this scared’ in his professional life.

Restaurateur Keith McNally later said he had rescinded his earlier ban on James Corden after receiving an apology

Change: The star will wrap up his eight year presenting stint at The Late Late Show at the end of April

He said: ‘It feels incredibly strange. ‘It is an unnatural feeling to walk away from something you love so much. It is not right, because you are having such a great time.’

He will wait until the end of the school year for his three kids before returning to Britain.

He added:  ‘I am certain this is the most overwhelming year of my life professionally. ‘Sometimes you feel you just want to rush into something, because you are so scared and terrified and it is just going to go like that and you are nowhere.

‘I haven’t felt on such unstable ground or haven’t known what I am going to do.’
