Lola is a longtime nickname of Jennifer’s that reflects her ‘more playful, carefree side,’ according to a press release in April.

But the launch of her latest venture was blasted by fans, who roasted Lopez for starting a liquor brand despite abstaining from alcohol herself – on top of the fact that her husband Ben Affleck has been open about his battle to stay sober.

The Shotgun Wedding star didn’t seem to be fazed by the backlash surrounding her brand’s initial launch earlier this month, as fans piled on to convey their ‘disappointment and confusion.’

It all began on April 4 when Lopez treated her 241 million Instagram followers to a surprise promotional video that showed her cooling off with her low-calorie spritzes as she basked in the Mediterranean sunshine.

‘The secret is out!!!’ declared the Maid in Manhattan star’s caption. ‘I’m proud to share with you @DELOLA … my new collection of unique, mixology-level ready to enjoy spritzes. More is #OnTheJLo. Let’s live the #DelolaLife together @gregswalesart.’

‘You don’t even drink alcohol yourself!’ commented one critic. ‘Why push this on others – you know the harm it does that’s why you don’t drink it!’

‘Wow,’ wrote another disillusioned fan. ‘I’m so disappointed and confused by the narrative that she puts out about how she doesn’t drink alcohol and all the benefits of not drinking. And her partner is sober?’

Many went on to criticize her latest venture as a shameless cash grab, since Lopez has been very outspoken about the negative health effects of alcohol consumption.

Creating a buzz: The Mother star has been on a promotional blitz to get the word out about her latest venture, frequently posting Delola content on social media

Many fans wished that the A-lister had gone in the direction of an alcohol-free beverage line

Fans also took issue with the fact that Jennifer is launching a liquor brand when her husband Ben Affleck has been open about his battle to stay sober

Many of her followers posted lengthy rants about the perceived inauthenticity and hypocritical nature of Jennifer’s new pursuit

The Wedding Planner star previously told InStyle that she believes alcohol ‘ruins your skin.’

Speaking to UsWeekly in 2016, Jennifer cited her alcohol-free lifestyle as one of the ultimate secrets to looking so young: ‘I don’t drink or smoke or have caffeine. That really wrecks your skin as you get older.’

Many fans wished that the A-lister had gone in the direction of an alcohol-free beverage line or ‘mocktail.’

‘Did you even consider partnering with a non-alcoholic brand?’ asked one follower, leading many to declare, ‘Do better JLo!’
