Johnny Depp’s first wife blasts ‘horrific’ Amber Heard trial

Johnny Depp and Lori Allison were just 20 and 25 respectively when they got married in 1983, with their short-lived romance ending in divorce two years later due to “irreconcilable differences”.

Ever since their split the pair have remained close, with Lori claiming she rarely does interviews in order to better protect Johnny’s privacy.

Lori closely backed the Pirates of the Caribbean star all throughout his court battles with his second wife Amber Heard and now, one full year since the trial started, Lori shared her own experience of the trying time.

Speaking on the Popcorned Planet podcast yesterday as part of their charity drive for the Make-A-Wish foundation, Lori admitted: “I’m no angel, I’ve done my share of s****y things to people but what she did was absolutely horrific.

“If there were things that I could do to her that were legal I would do them!”

The makeup artist revealed she had met Amber Heard long before the court case and on first impressions the actress “seemed really nice and she was gorgeous and what’s not to love?”

Lori continued: “But as the time went by and I would hear things about her, he didn’t seem too happy all the time. I didn’t see him a lot so I can’t really say.”

Johnny and Amber’s case going to court, and the proceedings being broadcast across the world, greatly impacted Lori as she recalled: “I probably broke down several times because I felt really bad for him.

“He’s very private – which is why I don’t do interviews – and I think for him to come out so wholeheartedly was what he really needed to do.”

She emotionally added: “I think it would’ve killed him, well maybe not, but it just broke my heart that somebody could do that to him.”

Later in the conversation, Lori revealed she’s had a few people tell her she’s “the best ex-wife anyone could ask for”, joking that it’s a “fair assessment” as she wholeheartedly supported her former husband during such a trying time.

Recalling the early days of romance with the Edward Scissorhands star, Lori gushed: “He still had a mullet. I met him when he was 17.”

She went on to explain how she helped the now globally renowned star gain his footing in fame as she “bought him new clothes and cut his hair” to help him get into The Kids band.

Lori concluded: “He’s really generous, he has the biggest heart of someone I’ve ever met. I love him to pieces, I get all goofy-eyed when I think about him and his future, our past.

“I want nothing but the best for him and I hope he feels the same about me!”
