Jon Bon Jovi breaks silence on son’s engagement to Millie Bobby Brown

Jon Bon Jovi talking to Andy Cohen about his son’s engagement?

Jon Bon Jovi, 61, got married to his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley, 60, at the tender age of 27 and over three decades of marriage the pair welcomed four children together, Stephanie, 29, Jesse, 28, Jake, 20 and Romeo, 19.

However, young Jake looks to overtake his dad’s record as he proposed to Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, 19, which sparked a global backlash online due to their age.

But, the musician is evidently unbothered as he beamed with pride and happiness for his son, joking with Andy Cohen in a Sirius XM interview as “three of my four” are now engaged.

He declared: “I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner.”

Having been with his own beloved since he was a teenager, the rockstar shared some sage insight: “My advice really is growing together is wise.

“I think that all of my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all.”

Jon also admitted he had seen Stranger Things before his son started dating the star and gushed over his soon-to-be daughter-in-law saying: “Millie’s wonderful, her whole family are great. Jake is very very happy.”

As Andy congratulated Jon on the engagement, the Bon Jovi star pointed out that it’s simply the “latest one” in their family.

28-year-old Jesse proposed to his now-fiancee Jesse Light at his East Hampton home surrounded by their families, including Jon himself.

On the other hand, his younger brother Jake popped the question while he and Millie were on a tropical holiday in April.

They announced their engagement on Instagram, both flashing mile-wide smiles as Millie flaunted her new jewellery item.

While Millie’s post received over 13 million likes and countless “congratulations” in the comments, with many fans demanding that her Stranger Things costar Noah Schnapps be their ring bearer.

However, the announcement garnered some criticisms as well with many claiming the couple was “far too young” to get married and that it’s a decision they “will regret in the future”.

The debate caused such a stir that the phrase “she’s 19” was trending on Twitter over the following days but the couple have seemingly kept themselves above the noise as the actress’ $150,000 ring has been firmly planted on her finger ever since.
