Rest in peace

I was heartbroken last week to learn of the brutal murder of 16-year-old schoolgirl Brianna Ghey.

Two teenagers have now been charged with her death, but that will never bring comfort to the family who lost their child under such horrific circumstances.

I’d like to wish her family my sincerest condolences for their loss and I’ll forever keep Brianna in my prayers.

Congrats Riri!

I stayed up until 2am to watch the Super Bowl and I’m so glad I did because Rihanna made the surprise announcement that she’s expecting baby number two.

At first, I thought I could see a tiny bump, possibly remaining after giving birth to her son, but then she rubbed her belly and I realised – there’s another on the way!

I’m over the moon for her.

It was her first concert in seven years and she knocked it out of the park. Singing and dancing on a floating platform whilst pregnant – wow!

I love that Rihanna isn’t an over-sharer, she keeps us on our toes.

DJ Love

I spent the week filling in for my comedy pal Rob Beckett on BBC Radio 2 and what a joy it was.

I’ve covered for Rob on the show before, but it didn’t stop the nerves creeping up on me when I walked into that radio station.

I’ve worked on the air in the past, but Radio 2 has millions of listeners so it can be quite daunting.

But as soon as you’re live and connecting with them, all those worries disappear.

Lovely Rob sent me a message and tweeted to check in on me.

Radio has such a kind and welcoming community – hopefully I’ll be back soon!

Cake connoisseur

I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be appearing in the upcoming series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up 2 Cancer.

It was an incredible experience trying my hand at baking. I always thought I had quite a knack for making cakes, but boy, the pressure of the tent really does get to you!

Baking is a science – it’s a different level of cooking and there are many technicalities.

I will say, however, that Paul Hollywood isn’t as scary as he looks. You could melt away in those blue eyes…

Full house for Harry

The Brits came back with a bang and what a night it was for Harry Styles!

He ate up this year’s awards ceremony by bagging Best British Album, Best Song, Artist Of The Year and Best Pop/R&B Act. I’m so pleased for him.

My favourite part of the night was my girl Lizzo’s performance. She has so much talent and energy – she really knows how to get audiences on their feet and I’m here for it!

And shout-out to my dear friend Mo Gilligan for his amazing hosting skills.

He’s great at putting the stars at ease and making them laugh.

It’s a shame that there were no female performers nominated for Best Artist, but there’s always next year.
