Judi Love on Rebekah Vardy’s ‘Wagatha’ trademark -‘That’ll pay her legal fees!’

Stand-up comedian and Loose Women panellist Judi Love has had her say on the revelation that Rebekah Vardy is seeking to trademark the term 'Wagatha Christie' following her loss against Coleen Rooney in court last year.

Writing in her weekly OK! column, Judi also wishes pal AJ Odudu a premature congratulations following rumours she may be set to host the upcoming reboot of Big Brother, shares her shock at Tory MP Andrew Edwards' alleged comments over slavery, praises YouTube star EO for last week's mental health admission and says more needs to be done following the shooting of Ralph Yarl in America last week. Here we go again…

Just when we thought it was over, Rebekah Vardy has brought us Wagatha Christie take two!

Though she might have lost the libel case against Coleen Rooney, she’s now attempting to take the narrative another way by seeking trademark protection for “Wagatha Christie”.

If successful, this could mean others need her permission to use it in the commercial capacity she protected it in – like in a song.

In some cases she may be able to get a fee.

That’s one way of paying off her fees from the case!

Big congratulations!

I’d like to wish a premature congratulations to my Big Breakfast co-star AJ Odudu after it was rumoured she’ll be hosting Big Brother when it returns in the autumn.

I can’t believe it’s coming back.

I reckon she’d be fantastic – she’s got the look, the voice and the charisma to be the front woman the show deserves.

It needs someone who’ll keep viewers on their toes with exciting updates from the house and great interviews when the contestants come out, and I think AJ is the perfect person for the job.

Shocking mindset

Politician Andrew Edwards was investigated over racist comments after allegedly saying “all white men should have a Black slave”.

It’s shocking, particularly with slavery being so embedded in Black history and with modern-day slavery still existing.

I’m interested to find out what the consequences will be if they are his awful words.

It makes you question whether others in a position of power have an equally prejudiced mindset.

Keeping it real

Last year, a video circulated showing British rapper and social media comedy star EO during a stay in a rehabilitation centre, after he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

It left fans concerned for his wellbeing, but the youngster recently recorded another video admitting the reason was addiction to cannabis, which triggered a breakdown.

I hope he’s on the mend and I commend him for being so honest.

It’s something a lot of other young people go through and feel scared to open up about.

Heartbreaking news

I was horrified to hear that Ralph Yarl, a 16-year-old Black boy, was shot and wounded after ringing the doorbell of the wrong address in Missouri during an attempt to pick up his little brothers.

What a lot of people are hugely upset about is that the white male, 85, who shot Ralph wasn’t immediately apprehended by police.

In fact, he later turned himself in.

A severely injured Ralph was forced to go to multiple surrounding homes to ask for help, eventually finding someone who would call 911.

This is where the issue lies when it comes to Black lives, especially in the US.

Thank God Ralph survived, my thoughts are with his family and friends.
