EastEnders Ben Mitchell star Max Bowdens life off-screen from co-star split to baby

Max Bowden has made quite the impression on EastEnders viewers since he arrived on-screen as resident bad boy Ben Mitchell back in 2019.

Max's on-screen life has been full of drama and scandal, as Ben has struggled with accidentally killing someone, struggled with drug abuse and found himself in trouble with the police.

Although not quite as dramatic, Max's personal life has also been filled with plenty of highs and lows.

The star, who is a dad of one, has been involved in several high profile romances – including with one of his co-stars.

Just last year, Max was dating Roisin Buckle but announced that they had split for good in March.

However, fans were left confused when, just a few weeks later, the actor announced that he and Roisin were expecting.

It was later clarified that although they weren’t together, they were planning to co-parent together.

Just a few weeks after splitting from ex Roisin, Ben was linked to his co-star Shona McCarty who plays Whitney Dean on the soap.

The pair were rumoured to be romantically involved for months before they took their relationship Instagram official in September 2022.

The very same month, Ben welcomed a son named Reginald Buckle with ex Roisin.

In a sweet post on Instagram, the star wrote that it was the “greatest feeling in the world” and shared that he’ll “never get over the feeling of my son looking me in the eye for the first time.”

The star also made sure to thank his ex: “Well done to Roisin on being such a strong first time Mum and taking to motherhood like a champ.”

After the birth, Roisin launched her own podcast One Mum and a Baby that charted her experience as a first time single mother.

By the time of the birth it looked like the two exes had repaired their relationship after Roisin accused Max of missing scans and failing to speak to her for months at a time.

On her podcast in July 2022, Roisin said they “weren’t really on talking terms” and revealed that she planned to give birth without him by her side, though it’s not clear if this plan was later changed.

Roisin added that she would never stop Max from seeing his son.

A few weeks after Max became a dad for the first time, he seemingly split from new love Shona.

At the time, an unnamed friend said that it just “wasn’t the right time” for the pair to get together.

Since then, it looks like Max has been focusing on fatherhood and family while staying single.
