Katherine Ryan gives birth! Comedian welcomes daughter Fenna Grace as husband Bobby shares snaps from star’s ‘lengthy’ home birth

Katherine Ryan has given birth to her third child.

The comedian, 39, welcomed a baby girl named Fenna Grace in the early hours of Friday morning, with her husband Bobby Kootstra announcing the news on Instagram. 

Alongside an adorable snap of their newborn daughter, Bobby also shared a picture of Katherine during her ‘lengthy’ labour as he praised her ‘strength’.

He shared on Instagram: ‘Fenna Grace Kootstra Dec 16, at 12:05am.

‘Mom is incredible! Proving her strength repeatedly through the relatively lengthy delivery at home. We are so blessed:)’.

Katherine also shared an adorable son of their son Fred, 18 months, meeting his new sister captioned with the timestamp of 12.05.  

The TV star is also mother to daughter Violet, 12, from a previous relationship.

Katherine revealed she was pregnant with her third child back in July.

The TV personality admitted she learned she was expecting after trying for the first time while still breastfeeding her son Fred, who she welcomed just 13 months ago.

Katherine shared her pregnancy news on her podcast, but remained tight-lipped on how far along she was.

She said: ‘I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.

‘And I thought, “We’ve got to get the kids out of the way”. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids. I just thought, ”well let’s go for it”.’

Speaking on her show, she said: ‘You should never tell people your due date. If you never tell them, they can never start hassling you around that time.’

She added: ‘You guys know I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that. 

‘I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.

‘And I thought ”we’ve got to get the kids out of the way”. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids. I just thought, ”well let’s go for it.”

Explaining that she was still breastfeeding Fred at the time, Katherine admitted she ‘knew she wasn’t ovulating’ because she ‘didn’t have notable dryness.’

‘So one day I’m walking around and I feel, you know, damp. And I felt a little more attractive than usual,’ she added.

She said: ‘I thought, #’well let’s wait and see, let’s track all the things.’

Katherine added that she ‘forgot about trying’ while touring after suffering two pregnancy losses, but began to suffer from a ‘sharp pain’ which lasted for two to three minutes, which she had while pregnant with her son Fred.

She continued: ‘I thought maybe I’m getting my period. And I didn’t expect to get a period this month as I could because these things have to even themselves out after your first period when you’re breastfeeding.’

‘Soon after, days later I had a positive pregnancy test.’

Katherine had a civil partnership with childhood sweetheart Bobby in December 2019, in a low-key ceremony in Denmark after the pair rekindled their romance.
