Katie Hopkins hits Sam Smith with unprovoked attack calling them ‘dirty and disgusting’

Katie Hopkins has hit out at Sam Smith and branded the Unholy hitmaker as “beastly” after their latest photoshoot.

The controversial journalist launched the unprovoked attack on Sam following their recent photoshoot with Perfect Magazine, where the star, 30, wore a tight-fitted corset and string wrapped around their arms.

Another photo showed Sam from the back as they sported another white corset, while a third was of them in an open-front bodice as the singer showcased their stomach.

Following the unconventional shoot, Katie, 48, has shared her thoughts – and its safe to say she isn’t a fan of the pictures.

Speaking on the Anything Goes with James English podcast, she misgendered Sam as she said: “Sam Smith; he looks like an undercooked Greggs sausage roll with nipple tassels on. I don’t care if you think you’re trans or bi or queer or whatever, if you’re morbidly obese, go and put some clothes on mate.”

Katie continued: “Put some kit on that, because that is beastly. Like, proper dirty, disgusting looking guy who’s chronically, now, ill.”

While Katie wasn’t in favour Sam’s shoot, many of their celebrity pals rallied round the star and shared their love for the photos.

After Sam posted the snaps on Instagram, Demi Lovato commented: “I'm obsessed” followed by a string of fire and black heart emojis.

“This is taking your power back,” added body positive advocate Tess Holliday, while someone else said: “This makes me so happy. Sam your fashion is so high.”

Another said: “Those who keep saying they miss the Sam clearly need therapy, you have some internal sh*t going on – look inward sis.”

This isn’t the first time Sam has faced backlash for their bold fashion statements. The singer recently drew heat for their I’m Not Here To Make Friends music video, which saw the 30 year old dancing around in a corset in nipple tassels, leaving little to the imagination.

Discussing the racy video on The Graham Norton Show, the hitmaker hit back and insisted: "Nothing seedy went on guys. Nothing weird."

Noting the castle it was filmed in, they went on to quip: "Weirder things have happened in that castle, let's be honest."

Sam also laughed off a headline they'd seen about their video "offending OAPs".

Sam came out as non-binary in 2019 after previously describing themselves as a gay male.

"That’s never really been me. I’ve always felt queer. I’ve always felt non-binary trans. My whole life,” they told GQ after coming out.

“And it wasn’t until I had to sit in interviews every day and tell people my story again and again and again that I realised this narrative that was being created was only a small fraction of who I was.”

Some of Sam's biggest tracks include Unholy, I'm Not The Only One, Stay With Me and Promises with Calvin Harris.
