Katy Perry trips in heels in Coronation blunder after selfies session

Katy Perry tripped and almost fell as she walked outside Westminster Abbey at today’s Coronation ceremony, in what could have become a very embarrassing blunder.

Fortunately for the California Gurls hit-maker, she quickly regained her composure and elegant gait.

She also raised some fans’ eyebrows when she made herself the centre of attention inside the Abbey with her boundless enthusiasm for taking selfies to capture the moment.

Other Coronation-goers flocked towards Katy during the proceedings and she seemed more than happy to pose with them for the camera, smiling broadly as she held a phone up.

The songstress had previously got herself into hot water with some viewers who fumed about her “inconsiderate” extra-large hat and the possibility that it could block others’ line of view.

That said, other royals including Lady Louise Windsor – the daughter of Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh – also sported a sizable hat for the event, so Katy wasn’t alone.

Katy may have stolen the show, but it has been reported that King Charles himself also asked her for a selfie in the past.

According to his former private secretary Scott Furssedonn-Wood in a post tweeted earlier this month, Charles asked for a photo on his behalf, as his children “love” her.

He wrote: “Exciting that @katyperry is performing at #CoronationConcert. I was with The King in Mumbai in 2019 when he first met her. I had told him how much my kids loved her.

“Those of us in the team never asked for selfies. So HRH kindly asked for me ‘He and his family are such fans!'”
