Kerry Katona slams Love Island and reveals daughter has turned it down twice

Despite it having a massive fan following, Kerry Katona is happy that her daughter Lilly-Sue McFadden has turned down the chance to appear on Love Island on numerous occasions.

According to Kerry, her daughter has been asked by show bosses to feature on the ITV2 dating show more than once in a headhunting mission by the channel but she has consistently turned them down, despite Warrington-born mum Kerry originally encouraging her.

The 42 year old told the Mirror: "Love Island – Bore Island, it's wrong, I can't believe it's still going.

"Our Lilly got asked to to it twice.

"I went 'Do it!', our Lilly is one of these girls, she doesn't shave her armpits, she's a stunning girl, she'll sit there with a rollie [cigarette] looking a mess."

Kerry insisted it might be a great opportunity for the 20 year old to show younger girls, like her little sister Heidi, that's ok to be normal but the blonde beauty stuck to her guns, believing it's not for her because, according to mum Kerry, she's not one to "stroll around in a bikini."

Kerry, who is a columnist in our sister title New, went on to describe the how fake and false the show is before getting into how wrong filters are and how she never uses them on herself.

Kerry has been busy working on her third memoir, Whole Again: Love, Life and Me, which will be released in October, looking back over her childhood struggles, navigating the showbiz life and her turbulent love and family life.

Admitting to OK! exclusively, she said that this book has been the "hardest one" to write.

“It’s my third autobiography, and I must admit, it’s the hardest one I’ve ever done.

"I’ve opened up about the past 10 years of my life – and it’s been tough. I found it particularly hard to write about my ex George Kay.”

Feeling nervous about the release she hopes to inspire others from the things she has been through.

"“I feel really nervous about the book coming out, but I hope it can help other people who may have been through similar experiences. If it helps one person, then it will be worth it,” she continued.

“I’ve put my heart and soul into this book and I can’t wait for you to read it.”

Doting mother of five, Kerry has Molly-Marie, 21, and Lilly-Sue, 20, to ex-husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 16, and Maxwell, 15, with ex Mark Croft and daughter Dylan-Jorge with late ex husband George Kay.
