Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton, 40, has shared his heartbreak over his co-star and dance partner Kerri-Anne Donaldson’s death at the age of 38.

Kevin told his 383,000 followers that he had known the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist ever since they were competing in dance contests together as children.

Despite his sadness over the tragic news, Kevin shared he felt grateful to have had one more chance to dance with Kerri over Christmas.

While sharing a series of sweet photos of the pair as young budding dancers, Kevin wrote: “Absolutely heartbroken.

“I’ve known Kerri since we were kids and she was always the loveliest girl.

“A friend and a dance partner.

“I’m glad we got to dance together this xmas. And that the whole cast of Strictly Ballroom got to work with you in rehearsals. RIP.”

Kevin completed his post with a broken heart emoji, while fans supported him in the comments section of his Instagram post.

One person wrote: “Oh Kevin I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending love at this incredibly hard time.”

Back in December 2022, Kerri took to her own Instagram page to share a selfie with Kevin.

She jokingly captioned the post: “When you turn up to a show with @keviclifton thinking you’re the main event, but actually you’re just a warm up act for Tinie Tempah & Rita Ora #intercontinentalhotel #events #london #strictly #dancers #lifeofadancer.”

Kerri performed on BGT alongside Strictly professionals Katya Jones, Neil Jones and Kai Widdrington as part of Latin dance troupe Kings and Queens.

The contestants reached the semi-finals of the ITV show, but were voted out, while boy band Collabro went on to win that year.
