Original Gladiator Falcon’s life from ‘keeping low profile’ to tragic death

Gladiators came to an end on ITV more than 20 years ago and fans are excited for a rebooted version of the agility series to air on the BBC.

Bernadette Hunt, otherwise known as Falcon, joined the series in season two and she competed up until the final season.

The series came to an end in 2000 and earlier this year, Bernadette tragically died aged 59.

She had initially trained as a ballerina before turning her attention to a very different career – bodybuilding.

After the original series ended she decided to keep a low profile, turning down the chance to appear in an ITV reboot.

The news of her death in March 2023 was shared by her brother-in-law on a Facebook page.

He wrote: “It is with great sadness that I have to tell you of my partner’s younger sister Bernadette Hunt. Most people will remember her as Falcon From the hit TV Show Gladiators.

“I had the privilege to be in her company a few times and I have to say she was one of the most loveliest people I have ever met.

“She never had a bad word to say about anyone, indeed she was always known as the nicest Gladiator, always stopping to speak and sign autographs for anyone.
