Khloé Kardashian doesn’t feel ‘complete bond’ with son born via surrogate

There was a lot to unpack in the latest episode of The Kardashians. This week, one of the biggest focuses was on Khloé, who opened up to her mum, Kris Jenner about the difficulties she has experienced bonding with her son.

For some context, the reality star welcomed her second child – now known as Tatum Robert Thompson – with her ex partner Tristan Thompson via surrogate last year.

Since then, the 38 year old has been very open about the differences she’s felt between Tatum’s arrival and her older daughter, True’s.

Speaking on the 8 June episode, Khloé said: “When you compare it, between True and him, it's a very different experience. Like, the connection."

"Like with True, it took me a couple days to be like, 'Okay, this is my daughter,' and I was super into it – but just days," she added.

"But with him, it's taken me, like, months. I love him and I love kids, but I definitely still don't have that complete bond. But you know, so many say it takes time."

During the clip, Khloé was seen cradling and feeding her young son while having the heartfelt discussion with her mother.

In response to the Good American’s confession, Kris made sure to remind her daughter of how great a mum she is, and how well she’s doing.

Stressing that she’s “been through a lot,” and that her “emotions are spent” on dealing with everything that’s happened in the past, (probably alluding to Tristan’s infidelity and baby scandals) Kris was adamant that Khloé needed to give herself “a little bit of credit and a break.”

The 38 year old clearly agreed with her mum, before divulging her mixed emotions on the situation.

“I feel bad for sure. I feel guilty sometimes. I’m like, why isn’t it the same? But I know it will be,” she said, alluding to five year old True’s start in life.

Khloé then revealed that she definitely doesn’t treat Tatum differently, but that she just “questions” herself sometimes.

The cameras then panned back to Kris, who quickly reassured Khloé that she’s doing everything right. Including that she’s the “mother of the year.”

“You’re always feeding someone or entertaining someone or doting on your kids. You’re the most attentive person to all of us,” the 67 year old said.

Khloé wrapped up the conversation in a confessional, revealing that she wishes she “wasn’t so critical” of herself.

“I’m very kind to everyone else. I’m just not very kind to myself,” she concluded.
