Lisa Marie Presley was taking opioids again and was on “an extreme weight loss regimen” in the final weeks of her life, TMZ alleged on Jan. 30. The webloid claimed she was taking medication that helped her drop 40 to 50 pounds in the six weeks leading up to the 2023 Golden Globes. TMZ further claimed, citing sources, that the singer-songwriter, the only child of music icon Elvis Presley, had plastic surgery two months earlier. Lisa Marie, the site reported, wanted to look her best to celebrate the film “Elvis” during this awards season. At the Globes, Lisa Marie appeared gaunt and unsteady on her feet during interviews and at one point needed to be assisted by a friend. Her cause of death hasn’t yet been confirmed, as a toxicology report is expected to take several months. The mother of four, who previously struggled with opioid addiction, suffered a cardiac arrest on Jan. 12 at her home in the Los Angeles area. She died later that day at a hospital.

Cult leader?

“Dances With Wolves” actor Nathan Chasing Horse was arrested in Las Vegas on sex abuse charges on Jan. 31, and police say he was also a polygamist operating a cult called “The Circle.” The 50-page search warrant claimed that Nathan, 46, targeted indigenous girls without a father figure. He then allegedly groomed and coerced them into having sex with him — the girls were told the “spirits” insisted they have sex with Nathan so they could join “The Circle.” Some of Nathan’s alleged victims were under the age of 13. Nathan, who shared his Las Vegas home with five wives, reportedly used his reputation as a “medicine man” within the Native community to gain the trust of his victims. The actor, who appeared in several TV movies, was booked into jail on charges of child abuse or neglect, sex assault, sex assault against a child and sex trafficking of an adult.

Married man

He’s done it again. For the fourth time, Marc Anthony has said “I do.” The three-time Grammy winner wed Nadia Ferreira — a model and former Miss Universe Paraguay who’s 30 years his junior — in a lavish ceremony in Miami. Many of Marc’s celebrity pals were on hand for the nuptials including David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, Salma Hayek and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Marc popped the question in May 2022, just three months after the couple went public with their relationship.

Officially charged

On Jan. 31, Alec Baldwin was formally charged in the death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. A Feb. 24 court date has been set. The Santa Fe County, New Mexico, district attorney’s office charged both Alec and the set’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. “Negligent use of a deadly weapon charges were also filed against ‘Rust’ assistant director David Halls, who has pleaded no contest and has entered into a plea agreement that is pending approval,” the DA said in a media statement. “Today we have taken another important step in securing justice for Halyna Hutchins. In New Mexico, no one is above the law and justice will be served.”

Money matters

Pamela Anderson was an icon on “Baywatch,” but her bottom line doesn’t reflect that. According to her son Brandon, Pam is only getting $4,000 a year in residual checks. The actress starred on “Baywatch” — once the most-watched television series in the world — for six years. “When I go back and I even look at past deals and residual checks people would be shocked to find out how people really took advantage of her and took advantage of a young girl making a bad deal on a big show, and she was the biggest star in the world at the time,” Brandon told “Extra”on Jan. 31. “I think a lot of people made a lot of money off that, people are going to have to have their day when we come knocking… when she makes $4,000 a year off of ‘Baywatch?’ That’s a crime.” Back in 2019, Amazon bought the rights to the “Baywatch” box set. “When a big company like [Amazon] buys the rights to the ‘Baywatch’ box set and she doesn’t get a dollar? You tell me if that’s right,” he added. “She is ‘Baywatch.'” He continued, “If it’s your work and your face and your image, you deserve something. You couldn’t get away with that today. There’s no actress in the world that that would happen to today.”

On the Jan. 30 episode of her “Reasonably Shady” podcast, Robyn Dixon confirmed rumors that her back-on husband, Juan Dixon, cheated on her before they shot season 7 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” The infidelity ultimately stalled their plans to tie the knot for the second time, she said. “Juan was an idiot and communicated with this woman on Instagram because, you know, whatever, he’s bored.
