Love Island fans beg Paige and Gemma Owen to ‘run’ as they point out ‘red flags’
Love Island fans have warned that contestants Paige Thorne and Gemma Owen need to “run” after spotting red flags with their significant others on the show.
On Tuesday's episode, the Islanders each performed raunchy dance routines to try and increase their fellow islanders heart reates.
After the challenge, the results of who got whose pulses racing the most were read out — and the outcome was less than favourable for Paige, 24, whose partner Jacques O’Neill turned out to be most flustered by ex girlfriend Gemma, 19.
The rugby player and dressage champion were in a relationship for a year before they split in 2020.
When Paige confronted Jacques, 23, about her concerns following the results due to his romantic past with Gemma, she received a salty response from him, causing fans to list his reaction as a “red flag” as they called out his “attitude” towards the paramedic.
"Why does Jacques have an attitude all the time? major red flag, why does he need to speak to women like that?" one person commented.
A second fan said: “Paige please escape Jacques omg the way he speaks to women I hate him.”
"Jacques calling Paige pathetic" wrote another, as they added a series of red flag emojis.
A fourth added: “Why does Jacques feel like it's acceptable to speak to Paige like that?”
Fans of the show also pointed out “red flags” shown by Luca Bish, 23, after partner Gemma got into an argument withEkin-su Cülcüloğlu.
Tensions rose between the pair after Ekin-Su passed on Gemma’s reaction to Dami Hope’s mind-reading.
He predicted that if a person came in the villa that was “100% her” she would have her head turned, to which Gemma responded: “Yeah, that was quite impressive. I don't think you're that far wrong."
After rowing with Ekin-Su, Luca pulled Gemma for a chat and told her: “I want a future with you. I'm obsessed with you, I'm not going to lie."
Fans took this as a bad sign and flocked to Twitter as they gave their reactions to the fishmonger’s comments.
“Luca's obsession with Gemma is a major red flag," one person wrote.
A second said: "Gemma, run. This is a red flag central. If this chat hasn’t given you the ick, I don’t know what will."
Another added: "Luca actually has a million red flags. His mood, the way he treats women he isn’t interested in, the way he reacts to situations and a million other things."
