Oh dear: The fishmonger took off his mic and walked out the door following the argument, that came after a debrief saw the girls take Gemma’s side and the boy’s agree with Luca

Taking to Twitter someone penned: ‘Even a secondary school relationship can’t be this childish.’

Another added: ‘Not surprised that Luca and Gemma got into an agreement, it’s just a game ffs, why does Luca have to get so overly jealous? Over something harmless, Gemma’s only just seeing what everyone has been seeing throughout the season, I thought Gemma was “wise” lol.

A third fan disagreed as they wrote: ‘People just want to use Luca as a scapegoat and a whipping toy it’s so clear. If anything Gemma is in the wrong for how she handled it. It was a needless argument to bring back up when he made it clear his feelings on it where purely at the time.’

Someone else said: ‘I’m sorry but all these other people except Dami are stirring about Luca and it’s pure game playing. Especially Adam and Paige.’

Other’s highlighted the couples compatibility as they added: ‘Is Luca clingy or does his anxious attachment style clash with Gemma’s avoidant style? That’s never a good match and always ends badly for the anxiously attached.’

‘Luca and Gemma have no “strong connection” he’s obsessed and she tolerates him, the end,’ another fan penned.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘Like how have Luca and Gemma survived they have serious compatibility issues.’

Divided: Some fans sided with Gemma whilst others agreed with Luca

During the episode, the Islanders were tasked with taking on a Mile High-themed challenge, which saw the girls transform into sexy flight attendants.

Throwing herself into the task, Gemma left the boys in awe with her racy antics, that also saw her lick shirtless from his torso up to his neck.

While the boys seemed impressed by her behaviour, Luca was visibly annoyed, with the girls taking Gemma to one side for a debrief later in the day.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu mused: ‘Was it me or was I seeing that Luca was being a bit weird? Like when you were doing your challenge?’

While Indiyah Polack agreed: ‘He was just a little bit of a baby.’

A clearly exasperated Gemma then turned to her fellow Islanders and sighed: ‘It’s really not that deep, but if he’s gonna be a p***k over it then he can do one.’

Later in the day, Gemma pulled Luca for a chat, announcing: ‘You can sit here and say that you’re not in a mood… you’re in a mood.’

As Luca insisted he wasn’t, Gemma protested: ‘Luca don’t play thick… you were pushing me off, had a face like a slapped a**e, are you 12?!’

The fishmonger then admitted: ‘It’s obviously not nice to see but it’s a challenge. Licking other boys, putting your head down there, but it’s a challenge. I can’t exactly stay annoyed at you for it.’

Yet Gemma was quick to pick up on his wording, responding: ‘So you can’t exactly “stay” annoyed at me for it – so you were annoyed at me for it.’

Walking away from the conversation, Luca muttered ‘it’s doing my head in’, while Gemma sarcastically quipped: ‘Well that went well.’
