Love Island worker picks up used tampon from bathroom floor in messy villa

Reports have emerged today that the once-picturesque South African villa that the new series of Love Island is currently being held in has been left "an absolute tip" by the latest batch of Islanders.

The Daily Star announced today that an inside source from this year's 'love-nest' has already been left shocked by the state of the villa, despite the new series only having launched just two weeks ago.

Despite the colossal property boasting a huge pool, an intimate hideaway and an extra large firepit where most of the drama goes down, one individual has seemingly exposed the grim realities of villa life.

"It stinks apparently and it's just a mess," the source revealed. "The runners have to clean up after all of them and they say it's absolutely disgusting. There's only about two toilets and there's more than 10 Islanders in there."

Amongst the numerous toe-curling allegations the source has made against this year's group of love-hungry singletons is that one Islander left a used tampon on the ground for a member of staff to clean up.

"One person was telling me that they went in the villa once and there was a tampon on the floor," they added.

"A used tampon all over the floor and they had to clean that up. They just don't care, it's almost like festival toilets."

The villa is kept spotless in preparation for the arrival of the new constetants, but apparently the stars often forget to take into consideration that members of staff clean the properties used.

Former Islander and Scottish hunk Jay Younger – who appeared on the show briefly last year – revealed after leaving the villa that his surroundings were "absolutely rank".

He told press after his departure: "Yeah there were only two showers in the whole villa. The toilets were absolutely rank, they were rancid.

"Just imagine 18 people at the peak of Casa Amor and only three bathrooms. It was really nasty."
