Love Island’s Summer and Josh split already – after explosive row with Coco at reunion

Love Island star Summer Botwe has confirmed that she and Josh Le Grove have split up.

She revealed the news just one day after she had an explosive row with fellow contestant Coco Lodge, on a special reunion episode following the end of this summer's series on Sunday (7 August).

Summer took to Instagram to share with her followers that she and Josh have decided to be just "friends", despite pleasing fans of the show when they started dating after being dumped from the villa.

"Thank you for all the love and support after the reunion show, it never goes unnoticed," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

"To clarify the 'argument' between me and Coco was heavily edited and there was more to it than what met the eye.

"I would also like to clarify that me and Josh are only friends and haven't decided to pursue things romantically at this time."

On the reunion show, things quickly got heated between both Summer and Coco as comedian Darren Harriott asked the contestants who had been hooking up since leaving the show.

“Come on, spill the tea – who's been getting off with who?” he prompted.

Summer replied: “I know someone who wishes they would have got with someone, but we move…”

This was in reference to Coco's appearance on the Saving Grace podcast, where she was asked if she slept with Josh while they were staying in a holding villa.

“No and I'm actually annoyed because I feel like I could have now,” she answered.

“Talking to him now after I'm like, I feel like it could have happened. He was like 'Oh I'm horny' and I was like 'Right I'm going to take myself to bed.'”

She added: “But I don't know why I did that because sorry, he's so fit. We are really close now and we spend like every day all day together. I even said ‘just let me try it once’."

Summer's reference to Coco's admission was met with a huge response from the studio audience as Coco shook her head, saying: "It's all b******t."

She added: “Oh, it’s only banter. If you can’t handle a big personality don’t go on reality TV.”

Summer replied: “Friends don’t say certain things, but alright.”

The pair later had to be separated, with Coco eventually walking off set.

Summer and Josh formed a connection on the show after their previous couplings with Danica Taylor and Dami Hope came to an end, but they were unable to explore this for long as Josh was dumped shortly afterwards.

However, not long after Summer was dumped following the islanders' decision to save Danica, the pair were spotted on dates back in the UK.
